The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has dropped its requirement for "stimulus" project propaganda signage, according to a communiqué from the departments inspector general. As of July 15 the policy changed, the I.G. says, and signs and plaques promoting the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) at jobsites and on things like "stimulus"-funded railroad cars were strongly encouraged in lieu of the mandate. Sounds like a Capone line.

I always get a kick out of the Putting Oregon to Work signs around here in a state with one of the worse economies in the nation.

His reasoning? There was no one working at any of the dozen or so sites he saw.
The only thing worse than getting screwed out of your money for worthless projects if getting screwed out of your money for worthless projects that aren’t even accomplished.
