As protests in downtown Manhattan over the "Ground Zero" Mosque have escalated, violent incidents involving Muslims have increased. Forget simmering debate; this is closer to a full boil.
Last night, a drunk man barged into a Queens mosque and shouted anti-Muslim slurs at the congregation during the nightly Tarawee prayers. He then proceeded to urinate on the prayer rugs and gave congregants the finger. Two men managed to subdue him and call 911.
The incident, which occurred at the Iman Mosque on Steinway Street in Astoria, is the latest in anti-Muslim incidents that are being reported across the US.
Faiza N. Ali, community affairs director for CAIR-NY (Council of American Islamic Relations) told NewsFeed that "The constant vilification of Islam and its adherents over the air on talk radio and peddled by some politicians is contributing to the rise in anti-Muslim sentiment across the country." The recent attacks, she says, are a "manifestation of hate and fear-mongering."
On Tuesday, the same night a NYC cabbie was stabbed, a mosque in Madera, CA was vandalized with a sign reading 'Wake up America, the enemy is here.'
During the month of Ramadan, which ends on September 10, Muslims gather together to pray together for the nightly Tarawee prayers after breaking their fast

Isolated incidents by a few nutjobs are being exploited by the left for political purposes. They can’t win an argument based on facts and logic so they’re resorting to sensationalism in an attempt to brand the Tea Party movement, and conservatives, as being “racist”. Not going to work.

If there’s another 9/11, or worse, a nuclear attack, I would suggest they all head for the exits as no one will be able to guarantee their safety. They think vocal opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque is Islamaphobia? I wonder what they’ll call the sudden backlash after such an attack? I will shave my beard on that day, just on the off chance that I’m mistaken for anything other than what I am.

The first incident wasn’t “violent.” The second clearly was, but seems to have been perpetrated by a Muslim sympathizer.

Islam is pure hate. 60% of their Koran is dedicated to how to defeat and hate the infidels. Sharia law is for subjugation. This is not a religion. It is a political cult of death. No mosques should be allowed anywhere in this nation. They prepare terrorists in their mosques. They plot terror in mosques. They foment hate in mosques. They hail our defeat in mosques and will do so near Ground Zero if allowed.
How many of these handful of incidents were staged like the nooses over doorways that are ALWAYS staged.
CAIR = Muslim Brotherhood = Saudi Arabia = CBS/NBC/CNN/Fox/ABC.
These types of attacks weren’t occurring when Bush was President.
UPDATE: The NYPD now dismisses claims that Omar Rivera used anti-Muslim slurs before urinating on the rugs, and police are not treating the crime as a bias case. The New York Post has revised their story as well.
