I plan to post live tomorrow if the Verizon network is willing.
The mall is very close to the Mosque at 1600 PA Avenue. Infidels should stay clear of the Mosque. You may be able to catch a glimpse of the Imam Soebarkah on Sunday. If you see him, you may wish him a Blessed Ramadan.
From my firsthand experience, DC after dark is a gamble if you are white. I myself would vacate before dark. I made the mistake of being there on the streets after sundown once, and I wont do it again.
Welcome to Free Republic! It’s wonderful you are going to the rally! What a wonderful thing for your daughters and friend to be witness to and participate in!
I wish I could be there, so I look forward to reading everyone’s posts about it tomorrow!
The Smithsonian station is the closest to the monuments.
Welcome to FreeRepublic.
The Metro is absolutely one of my favourite parts of going to D.C. If you’ve never taken the Metro before, I suggest going down and buying a fare card before tomorrow morning. At the same time you can check out the station to have a good idea of where you want to go in the morning.
Put enough on your farecard to cover the return trip. The machines are very crowded when an event is over. My sister and I are going on a bus. We just found out that the bus has to let us off at RFK stadium. This adds about an hour to the trip. We thought the bus would let us off near the mall. Oh well, it will be a wonderful day for patriots.
Well hello long time lurker! Glad you stepped up. Safe travels and may you and yours find your way with few difficulties....and may God grant Verizons co-operation!
A belated “Welcome to Free Republic” for real. :o)
