The Alaska Division of Elections said Thursday that it has more than 20,000 absentee and questioned ballots left to process from Tuesday's primary election. Most are expected to be Republican primary ballots that will decide the too-close-to-call race between U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Joe Miller.

Miller leads by 1,668.
..snip.. The state has received back 11,266 absentee ballots so far out of over 16,000 requested. The ballots had to be postmarked by Tuesday's election but can come in as much as 15 days afterward.
. . snip. . There are also 658 early votes not yet counted and 8,972 questioned ballots.

Lisa's not real happy:

“Lisa’s not real happy:”
She will win on the 5th recount.
Never fear, the DNC will ‘find’ 25,000 ballots ‘forgotten’ in a trunk of a car, and 95% of those votes will ‘coincidentally’ vote the Democratic ticket.
It’s pretty much a standard practice, but don’t ask me, ask Sen. Al Franken.
I’m sure her daddy is in a back room printing ballots

They let 20,000 people get absentee ballots in a state the size of Alaska?
What are they trying to do? Allow every election to be stolen in the cloakroom?
This is not why we had a Revolution, folks.
Hmmmmm, something is rotten in Alaska. I smell a Rat.
Just wait to see how 'real happy' the voters of Alaska are when she is declared the winner one month from now.
That does sound like a lot of absentee ballots...
Population, 2009 estimate 698,473
And that affects a Republican primary, how?
I expect absentee ballot usage to be pretty high in Alaska because the population is spread so thin.
Hmphf! Like we're so much better.
Lisa should just switch parties and get the RAT to step aside, so it can be a clear rematch between her and Miller.
20,000 questionable/absentee seems relatively high, considering that Alaska’s total voting age population is only about 514,000.
That would be nearly 4%, assuming most did vote.
it was reported the other day that they sent out 16,000 ballots and had rec’d 7000...so how come 16,000 has become 20,000????
Filed under “more proof, as if we needed it, that liberal Republicans are identical to Democrats.”
Wednesday it was 8,000 absentee votes to be tallied and today its 20,000 absenteee and disputed votes? Why am I getting the feeling that the fix is in?
I hesitate to point out that this is the Republican primary and both candidates are running as Republicans - the DNC does’t have anything to do with this. It’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that the next Senator from Alaska will have an “R” next to their name.
I’ve seen this movie before and hate the ending.
