WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Environmental Protection Agency has denied a petition by five environmental groups to ban lead in hunting ammunition.
The agency said Friday that it did not have the authority to enact the ban under the Toxic Substances Control Act, as the groups had requested.

SNIPPET: "(CNSNews.com) Environmental activists are pressing the Obama administration to ban the manufacture, processing and distribution lead shot, bullets, and fishing sinkers under the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976, but hunting and Second Amendment groups say the EPA lacks the authority to do so, for starters."

The fact they would even consider this will not help this administration.
Apparently they think they have some authority over fishermen, though. If they think cast bullets are bad, wait'll they see all the junk that gets thrown in lakes and rivers if they ban lead sinkers. Spark plugs, wheel weights, washers....
Exactly. Political considerations are the ONLY thing that could deter this bunch.

That makes for a red letter day. For once the O administration decided it had to follow a law.
My thought too. Since when did “authority” matter to any agency linked to Obama. Kudos to the EPA on this one, however.
