If you haven't heard, that debate is over. Algore says so.
East Germany was downright socially conservative compared to Obama and his supporters today!
LOL, yeah, Obama and his shower-buddies no doubt see their mandate as correcting the policy mistakes made by that notorious compromiser and trimmer, Walter Ulbricht.
Actually, aside from state atheism and abortion, Stalinist Russia and Eastern Europe were very socially conservative (you can't govern a society that's coming apart at the seams). It's only non-Communist countries where the Commies agitate for such things as "gay marriage;" there's not a single Communist country in the world that has it. Why don't the Commies "show us how it's done" by legalizing it in Cuba, Vietnam, or Red China first? But no, they want to use it to bring America down. I suppose after they do it'll be good old Todor Zhivkov Bulgaria-style social conservatism, but I'm not completely sure. Western Communism is much crazier and loonier than the Communism that reigned behind the Iron Curtain and even from Third World Communism. The Maoists in Nepal may have to invade us to restore order once our Commies are done.
Thank you :) and please let everyone you know about this Documentary.. It’s 70+ years crammed into 2 hours.. but very comprehensible..
Bikk
I guess ammo makers will have to protect nature from the effects of the lead in ammunition to meet EPA desires...
Full-metal jacket ammo for all!!!
It’s environmentally friendly, you know.
;-P
I think that any country where people can seriously call 0bama's agenda "moderately liberal" IS just a short step away from the DDR.
This communist jerk probably had this hitpiece written before he went, all except the quotes.
That's a very good point. Of course their program in the West is fostering social instability and ungovernability, and reducing "elites" to what they call "will-less-ness" (novolya).
Novolya and desinformatsiya (disinformation): two words that, if you knew nothing else about Soviet Marxism-Leninism, would prove its intrinsic evil: just to describe the evils of Sovietism, we have to import Soviet Communist words as "calques", i.e. words and concepts for which their is no equivalent in the native language, like forku and bifteku in Japanese, which are "fork" and "steak".
....it'll be good old Todor Zhivkov Bulgaria-style social conservatism.....
Similar to Stalin's planned purges after WW II? He was planning a pogrom of Jews at the time of his death, presumably one of the reasons, the tinfoil-hat club tells us, Stalin was killed on the operating table by his Jewish doctors. Or so the story goes. But he is known to have had more big purges in the works.
What is it about socialists, that they want to kill Jews all the time?
Western Communism is much crazier and loonier than the Communism that reigned behind the Iron Curtain and even from Third World Communism.
Survivors of the Cambodge terror might beg to disagree with you. And God only knows how many people the PKI planned to kill, before Col. Suharto and the Indonesian army overreached them and killed their cadres first (about 800,000 dead in that one).
"Gay marriage" is strictly a fetish for the Western left.
You might have a good guess there. "Time-saving journalism" the road upward for the aspiring liberal yuppy 'Rat?
It sounds like the handed-along e-mail I read a few years ago from a soldier in Iraq who observed the WaPo's Man in Baghdad (a South Asian fellow who later appeared occasionally on the talking-head circuit on TV) working a firefight scene in small-town Iraq downriver from Baghdad (in the heart of Shiite "Injun country", IOW) in late 2004 or 2005. The guy just walked around, took a few notes, didn't closely interview anyone in the unit about how they'd solidly kicked ass on the jihadis, and promptly published a "quagmire" piece that the soldier (a senior sergeant iirc) suspected the guy had already written, and took notes only to plug placenames and people's names into his premasticated pabulum.
