THE American economy is once again tilting toward danger. Despite an aggressive regimen of treatments from the conventional to the exotic — more than $800 billion in federal spending, and trillions of dollars worth of credit from the Federal Reserve — fears of a second recession are growing, along with worries that the country may face several more years of lean prospects.

Hint for you Progressive Fascists at the NY Slimes. Nothing your fearless Leader is doing, or will do, will work because your whole ideological outlook is anti-economic progress, In order to "pull out a miracle, he would have to jettison your whole ideological outlook and pull a Reagan.

“fears of a second recession are growing, along with worries that the country may face several more years of lean prospects.”

....some of us have concerns a lot harsher than a second recession...hyper inflation, followed by food riots don’t seem that far fetched to me.

Roger the NSS. Reality is an instructive thing when liberals can no longer avoid it. They resort to the last straw of telling what we already knew and what we have been telling them for years.

For the time being, Keynesian policies are roadkill.

My mother lived through it as a child during the Wymar Republic and now she may have to do it all over again. The big problem is that she is a Harry Reid Kool-Aid drinker. She is stuck in the Roosevelt lie mostly because her family was rescued from Hitler’s goons.

They won’t ever “pull a Reagan” because they are stuck in their ideological rut and it goes against their grain to do what is right and good.

They were roadkill from the start. Feeble attempts to mask the collapse of the socialist ponzi scheme.

The problem with them is -

- They think the economy needs a “stimulus”
- A fiscal “stimulus” just adds to the debt and doesn’t seem to work anyway.

What about a non-fiscal stimulus ? A “regulation holiday” would remove unfunded mandates from business and be way more stimulative.

Temporarily suspend a range of ADA, EPA, OSHA, Antitrust and etc. alphabet soup requirements for businesses for 3-5 years, with the exceptions grandfathered in should the regulations be re-imposed.

Zimbabwe is their goal. I’ve always wondered where their liveboats are hidden. They must have safe havens all ready to receive them when the great USS United States sinks.

They aren’t even doing Keynesian correctly; Keynes said the stimulus should be targeted and short. He was quite specific about the kind of thing the “stimulus” should target, and it wasn’t what these guys have done. The RATS blew most of the money on state highway projects. In effect what they did was to bail out state budgets.

So even if you believe in Keynesian economics (I don’t), these guys have got it all wrong.
