NEW ORLEANS Five years after Hurricane Katrina's wrath, President Barack Obama sought to reassure disaster-weary Gulf Coast residents Sunday that he would not abandon their cause. "My administration is going to stand with you, and fight alongside you, until the job is done," Obama said to cheers at Xavier University, a historically black, Catholic university that was badly flooded by the storm.
The president said there are still too many vacant lots, trailers serving as classrooms, displaced residents and people out of work. But he said New Orleanians have showed amazing resilience.
"Because of you," the president declared, "New Orleans is coming back." ...
Implicit in Obama's remarks was an indictment of sorts against former President George W. Bush's administration for its handling of the crisis. Obama called Katrina and its aftermath not just a natural disaster but "a manmade catastrophe a shameful breakdown in government that left countless men, women and children abandoned and alone." ...

blaming ... blame-ing haha, sorry folks
Wghen is Zer0 going to apologize for not creating his own Hurricanes? Insist that they be given muslim names?
Action is worth a thousand pledges, Mr. President.
Then again, considering this administration’s track record, butting the h*ll out might be worth a thousand actions.
how much more $$$ - will it ever end??
the msm uses katrina to get the ground zero mosque off the front page,
and, of course, “hate-bush” will be democrat plantation
derigour this fall election.
This obama is a bit slow on the draw.
Yup, he’s out there buying votes again WITH OUR MONEY!

There sure has been a big fuss over Katrina 5 year anniversary. Wonder if we’ll see him a few weeks from now - on 9/11. What will he promise the people of NYC? A federally funded mosque as a headstone for the nearly 3K killed?
I am sick and tired of hearing about Katrina. How is it that the folks in Florida and other gulf states pull together and recover from these big storms and in New Orleans they are still whining for federal aid 5 years later. My personal opinion is those folks have been on the federal dole all their lives and they believe it is an entitlement. And they have an enabler in the White Hut.
With the Billions of dollars we sent down there, they could have bought every affected Resident a brand new house in a much safer area.
The flooded areas could have been reverted into natural marsh land and designated a protected area like the Everglades.
With all that money thrown into rebuilding those areas, we are just one Hurricane away from total destruction and another Taxpayer bailout.
Does O think that's only true for NOLA?
GRAB YER WALLET!
Don’t worry, New Orleans. As soon as the Summer Recovery kicks in everything will be OK. Oops! The summer is nearly over, isn’t it, and no recovery in sight. Well, maybe you can worry a little bit but Obama will put Biden on the job since he no longer has to deal with the Summer Recovery. Then everything will surely be OK.

Nope, the MSM will lick his oily boots, and crap out BP briquettes before any consideration is given to this outrageous distortion and hypocrisy.
During the rescues of folks from their flooded homes, the people I saw interviewed were blaming Mayor Nagin and Kathleen Blanco. NOT ONE mentioned George W. Bush, because they knew that the locals were the ones who were supposed to be in charge.
Now they may have changed their minds after a few weeks, after non stop criticism of the Bush Administration by the MSM, but at the very beginning, they knew who was to blame.
