I was just pointing out, like Karl in post 14, that the States screwed themselves by passing the 16th (and 17th) Amendments. By doing so they gave up lots of power and leverage.

I agree we need to fight back against an out-of-control Federal government, unfortunately the States gave up some powers that would have been very effective for such a battle, making the fight much more difficult today.
