There is NO DOUBT in my mind that the second “test” was because the teleprompter went past where he was in the speech and he couldn’t finish the sentence on his own. He is reading, and doesn’t even know what he’s saying. If these were something he believed and maybe had a hand in writing he could have easily finished the sentence, but he was LOST without the teleprompter...Thats why he hit it the second time.....Not sure about the first time...

It looked to me like his telepromptors quit working and he used the sound check excuse to find his spot in his notes. Note he quit using the telepromptors, complained about the sound, and after that started looking down at his notes with a few more “sound checks” added to find his place.
