That's no surprise. Mehlman did damage as head of the RNC, as he intended to do.
Former RNC Chairman Undermines Conservatives
Privately, in off-the-record conversations with this reporter over the years, Mehlman voiced support for civil unions and told of how, in private discussions with senior Republican officials, he beat back efforts to attack same-sex marriage.

What happened to the NAMBLA representatives? They would fit in well here. Members of the Republican Party celebrating sodomy. Maybe it's time for another Civil War.

Cornyn has always struck me as a bit light in the loafers.
Here is what Duncan Hunter said about poofers forming 'GOP' organizations.
This year, the ACU brought in GOProud, the gay rights organization, as an associate sponsor. And Im thinking this is a bad trend. Seemingly, more and more Republicans are basically throwing their hands up and saying OK, the gay agenda is not controversial.
DH: I think the idea of having a political party, or in this case a political movement, defined by sexual activity is bad news. And its unacceptable to conservatism from my perspective.
So if you were still on the board and had to...
DH: Id be dead set against it.
Somehow I knew that.
DH: And since you brought that up, I AM going to contact them and tell them Im strongly against it!

Balkanizing and segregating Republicans based on race, religion or certain behaviour, inside or outside the bedroom, is more akin to the politics of Democrats. Bad idea.

I have no problem with him attending. Outside of the gay issues generally they are good conservatives who vote the right way. So Long as they don’ stick it down my throat I have no problem with them. you have to have a big tent and yo have to include people who may not agree with you on everything. They can enter the tent(but they have to keep their hands to themselves.).
