The Reuters/Ipsos poll released, today , has Republican Pat Toomey up 47-37 percent among likely voters over Democrat Joe Sestak in the Pennsylvania Senate race. Among registered voters, a category historically more favorable to the Democrats, Toomey is up 40-37 percent.

Meanwhile, the latest Rasmussen Poll has Toomey up 45-39 percent among likely voters with Toomey ahead 48-42 percent if leaners are factored in.

In the governor's race, Reuter/Ipsos has Republican Tom Corbett head of Democrat Don Onorato 49 percent to 34 percent.

In other election news, Sestak has launched his first attack ads in which he accuses Toomey to be in the pockets of Wall Street and features a CNBC interview from 2007 in which he advocates ending corporate income taxes.

Taxes are always paid IN FULL by the ultimate consumer. All others just add the tax to the offer price. The final consumer can't do that—by definition.

Maybe this will help Russell.

My bad, defiant memory...

I recall Russell losing the special, but ‘imagined’ that wasn’t the case for November. It’s been off the radar and don’t recall seeing final numbers for both the special and midterm.

After being soundly defeated by Mark Critz in the May 18th special election, Tim Burns managed to stumble into a win over Bill Russell in the Republican primary the same day.

The May 18th performance of Tim Burns was, to be charitable, underwhelming.

I expect Burns will lose to Critz again in November, probably get a little over 40% of the vote.

On a brighter note, the GOP appears headed for a good night in November in alot of the other Pennsylvania races, and hopefully that will play an important role in the national picture.

Thanks for the info smooth.

November should have been Russell’s challenge.
