The names of the city that we now call New York bear witness to successive waves of conquerors/colonizers. First came the Dutch, who named the city "New Amsterdam," then gave way to the British who renamed it "New York." Now come Muslims invoking the name of the Spanish city that was the seat of the Caliphate of Iberia and North Africa.
In A.D. 711, Muslim hordes conquered Spain for Islam's first inroad into Western Europe. The first mosque was built in the Spanish city of Cordoba, the site of a historic Islamic victory in conquest and subjugation of Spain and later of much of Europe.
Cordoba became the seat of the Caliphate of Iberia and North Africa, as well as the namesake of the Cordoba Initiative — the stated goal of which is to erect a mosque at the site of the first Islamic victory in conquering and subjugating America, on the 1,300th (not the 1,299th or 1,301st) anniversary of the conquest of Spain and the 10th anniversary of the great Islamic triumph of 9/11.

The developers of the New Cordoba Mosque contend that their purpose is outreach and bridging divides. The developers, however, have flatly refused even to discuss a win/win proposal for changing the venue of the New Cordoba Mosque to a more acceptable location for Americans — away from the site of the first great Islamic triumph in North America.
The organizers admit that they will seek funding (planned to exceed $100 million) from whatever sources they can tap. These include Saudi Arabia and Iran, bastions of some of the most militant forms of Islam.

The Cordova Mosque and its minaret, will be, like the Turkish minister said, “the tip of the spear of Islam” in America.
It will allow radical moslems to figuratively “piss” on the death sites of almost 3,000 Americans and foreign friendly workers who died most horribles deaths on 9/11.
Mayor Bloomberg is a “blooming idiot” and is what we Jews call those Jews during WW2 who helped the Nazis in order to save themselves (like George Soros did), KAPOS. That is the greatest insult one Jew can hurl upon another.
I’m in the mood for hurling. Bloomberg, you are a damned KAPO, a greedly little turd who would sell out your mother for political gain or self-adjulation. In fact, you are worse than Soros who was trying to survive in Nazi-Occupied Hungary. Today Soros is a marxist traitor and crook, the ultimate “Grinch”, “Scrooge” and sociopath. Most people do not recognize that what happens in a mosque is sedition. Pure and simple. Islam is not just a “religion”, it is a cult. Larger than that though, it is a political system, it is it’s own government, a economic system (which includes funding new mosque construction), its judicial...all wrapped up in the word sharia. This is inclusive of its military (jihadis) all rolled into one with one intent ...and that is to rule wherever they take root. It is a invasive, systemic infection looking to take over the host once it has quantum.
This is not just a “religion”, but something that cloaks itself in those terms so it should not be given the same treatment contemplated under the first amendment. The Korans Sharia rules are to consume whatever government there is wherever it goes.
Islam is political, and it’s goal is to supplant and replace. Globally.

The refusal to change the location in NYC refutes any assertion of good intentions for the mosque. It is all we need to know.

Writing in Islam: A Sacred Law, What Every Muslim Should Know About Sharia, he points out the difference between the American government based on man-made law, and an Islamic system, which Allah authored:
God’s role in the explicit philosophical construct of the law makes a big difference between the modus operandi of a righteous Muslim judge in a Muslim court and a righteous Western judge in a Western court. […]
The Muslim judge explicitly “reports to God.”
The judge who sits in the Western court is only explicitly responsible to the Constitution, the interpretations of a civil law and its rules.
Rauf, then, is endorsing a theocracy in which there is no separation between religion and state.
Indeed, he goes even further in his argument, claiming that religious Sharia law must govern all aspects of human life:
[S]ince a Sharia is understood as a law with God at its center, it is not possible in principle to limit the Sharia to some aspects of human life and leave out others. […]
The sharia thus covers every field of law – public and private, national and international – together with enormous amounts of material that Westerners would not regard as law at all…
Among the fields of law Rauf claims must be governed by Sharia are laws controlling religious observances, criminal law (which, according to the Imam, “includes crimes such as murder, larceny, fornication, drinking alcohol, libel”), family law, and economic laws.
According to him it is imperative that these laws be followed by all humanity for fear of displeasing God:
…if you don’t want to be accused by God of being a depraved, disbelieving wrongdoer, you’ve got to abide by “what Allah has sent down…”
Rauf’s book also describes the punishments that must be meted out to those who disobey Sharia:
Theft, for which the punishment according to the Quranic rule is:
“As for the male thief and the female thief, cut off their hands, as a punishment for what they have earned, an exemplary punishment from Allah…”
The punishment for a fornicator, not bound by marriage, is according to the majority of jurists one hundred lashes of the whip and exile for one year.
Rauf diverges irredeemably from the core American principle separating religion and government in a secular democracy.
For all the talk of his constitutional right to build a mosque, Rauf’s writings reveal his desire to ultimately extirpate the 1st Amendment (as well as the 21st) from the Constitution.
No American, especially not self-described liberals like Maureen Dowd, should wish to see this happen.
