I do not buy off on peak oil, but at the same time it would be extremely irresponsible to not plan for worse case scenarios. There are many very real scenarios where oil supply could be suddenly cut off.

That's why we need to invest in upgrading and developing our passenger rail infrastructure... to reduce our dependence on imported oil.
