Are Saudi dissidents preparing to overthrow the king?
jpost ^ | 9/2/10 | Benjamin Joffe-Walt

It’s an allegation almost too surreal to be real.

In a claim reminiscent of the most elaborate Middle East conspiracy theories known to date, a “reliable” source in the beleaguered Yemeni government has told the Yemeni news site Al Watan that a group of Saudi dissidents are secretly being trained by separatist Yemeni rebels in military warfare and covert communications so as to overthrow the Saudi king.

Analysts, however, think the source is a government official trying to disseminate false information to turn the Saudi government against the separatists in southern Yemen.

Why would the Saudi government support a separatist movement in southern Yemen in the first place? Well, the source claims, because Saudi Arabia is taking revenge on the Yemeni government over their failure to curb a separate rebellion that spilled over Yemen’s northern border into Saudi Arabia late last year.

I guess since the Iranians have gone nuclear - might as well have the Wahabbis take control of a major oil reserve...maybe then well rely on our OWN resources in the US and cut ties with the M.E. once and for all - it would make a great “proving ground” for new ordanance!

The Saudi/Yemen border provinces are not "fixed". Changes have occurred over the last couple of hundred years. In fact, there are people in Yemen who were turned down for admission to Saudi, and people in Saudi who wanted to be part of what is now Yemen.

If they had nukes they'd kill each other.

Let’s be real honest here.
The Saudi “King” is a king because at one time in the past his kin had a larger backing and bigger army.
King my ass.
Saudi Royal family simply a bunch of spioled fools living off the gub mint teet.
Overthrow em.

Overthrow em.

And let the Wahabi's take over? A recipe for a very large war.

There are still rumors around the mil/intel community that the Saudi’s have been getting their a$$es kicked by Yemeni rebels.

I’d sort of like to see Iran and Saudi Arabia get to it and take each other out.
Course obammy would probably try to get us in on it somehow.

Yes, we should have stayed out of the first Gulf War. These people are not our allies.

Sounds good to me. Radical community organizing muslims destabilizing radical elitist muslims. What’s not to like about chaos in their POS collectives?

Not so sure about that. Yes, they’ll keep each other occupied, but their history is to make war on everybody else too.

“Yes, we should have stayed out of the first Gulf War. These people are not our allies.”

We were asked to help and got paid for it! the second Gulf War we had a nincompoop lead us into it BTW we could have made that pay us back also but we chose the Islamic pandering route instead.
