PHOENIX It will go down as one of the most painful openings to a political debate in recent memory.
Gov. Jan Brewer stumbled and stammered through her opening statement during a televised debate Wednesday night, suffering through an embarrassing, cringe-eliciting pause that lasted more than 10 seconds.
With her hands clasped in front of her, she looked at the camera, then down, possibly at notes, and back up at the camera. She smiled, let out a loud exhale, then resumed her statement with a pronouncement of her record as governor.
"We have, uh, did what was right for Arizona," Brewer said, using a grammatical misconstruction she uttered twice during the debate...

Well did day did or did day didn't?
Day did.
Hmm....
She F’s up a debate performance, yet performs her duties to protect the citizens of Arizona AND America from enemies foreign and domestic vs. Obama, the UN, illegal aliens, drug cartels and other various LIB loser marxists.
I’ll take Brewer.
Governor Brewer and Arizona continue to be under the pressure of the Obama Administration.
Every television program I have ever seen her on she has conducted herself honorably, answered questions concisely and been a joy to watch.
What the Feds are doing to Arizona is overwhelming for her and her staff. Not to mention the cost that the citizens of Arizona must end up paying to fight for their rights.
Governor Brewer is, no doubt, exhausted.
Brewer is going to do fine. The illegals down at the SEIU came out and endorsed their boy Terry right away. He’s toast.
She didn’t look all that good but she had a brain f@rt. Big deal. She’s a great governor.
Please see my tagline.
Nothing a little fish oil, vitamin B and gingko biloba couldn’t remedy. Get a good nights sleep Gov. Brewer and come back to fight these drecks another day.
PS.. She’s one heck of a good, decent woman fighting the good fight against endless harassment from leftist monsters among us.
Nothing here. Lets move along
soros really has his boy on short leash. Knows nobama better and longer than we.
PS. And that goes for Sheriff Arpaio too!
Maybe so, but you must not have seen Brewer on Hannity or Greta where she hardly could put two words together without a "duh" or "ahhh." She is pretty inarticulate at best from what I've seen.
Even so, she is doing what is right for Arizona and the country and this is what matters. What she does is way more important than her lack of communication skills.
Yup! The ads pounding Goddard are already showing up. Pretty effective. I really don’t think Arizona needs another Goddard right now. We’re in deep trouble here and a girlyman lawyer just isn’t going to cut it. We need Brewer.
Greta show I watched Brewer on was excellent.
Hannity I watch all the time but can’t recall her stumbling.
I like her but I don’t live in Arizona so it doesn’t matter.
My guess is, the people of AZ aren’t going to remember this little stumble; rather, they’ll remember her taking decisive steps to protect their State!
As much as Jan and her State are under attack by Ø and company, you have to believe she’s not getting the sleep she needs. I’m thinking this could play into it.
Obama is considered a “performer”. SO long as we let our candidates be judged by the media’s criteria of “performance”, we will lose.
I don’t generally watch debates. I read them. I care what people say, not how they look saying it. But I don’t discount the need to be able to clearly state your opinions. That said, freezing on a word isn’t as bad to me as being a quick smooth talker but saying things that are so misunderstood that you have to clarify several times before people know what you meant.
Nobody thinks Perry doesn’t have a plan to eliminate 3 agencies. It’s absurd that he could forget the name of one of them, but his answer was a good answer to the question.
