1) Huffington Post's Sam Stein notes the increasing number of conservatives who now advocate same-sex marriage; how that places them to the left on this human rights issue of Barack Obama, who continues to explicitly oppose marriage equality; and how Democratic operatives are worrying that the Party, as a result, risks losing the devotion of gay activists and, especially, their money.
2) Sen. Dianne Feinstein -- Iraq War supporter, Surveillance State cheerleader, and beneficiary of her husband's vast, defense contracting wealth -- will take the lead in working to defeat Prop 19 and thus keep marijuana criminalized, in turn keeping Mexican cartels empowered
3) Latinos are among the most disenchanted Democratic voting bloc, as they are furious at the White House for repeatedly violating promises on immigration reform. Large numbers of Latino voters now blame both parties almost equally for failures in immigration policy.
4) Obama's Deficit Commission was structured so as to ensure recommendations for, among other things, cuts in Social Security benefits, to be voted on right after the election is nice and over with (an election the Democrats are trying to win by parading around as the protectors of Social Security). Also at Daily Kos, Laurence Lewis describes how similar this dynamic is to prior political controversies, where Democrats held themselves out publicly as believing one thing while privately working for the opposite.
This year isn't getting away from the Democrats because voters are moving toward the Republicans en masse. But the enthusiasm gap is turning races that would otherwise be lean Democratic into toss ups, turning toss ups into leaning Republican, and turning leaning Republican into solid Republican.

The ‘RATS’ Obamahype just wore off. Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Mmmmm.
This editorial is a good sign for our side.
We should send them a box of tissues!
If only Obama had been more liberal...
We’re in the midst of an obamalaise.
I loved the Drudge headline:
Jerry Springer: “Obama is a great President!”
That one’s got got to churn the liberal bile ducts like a swizzlestick made of no.10 grit sandpaper.
How much more “liberal” could Obama be short of setting up gulags and re-education camps? The leftists are nuts.
“Latinos are among the most disenchanted Democratic voting bloc, as they are furious at the White House for repeatedly violating promises on immigration reform. Large numbers of Latino voters now blame both parties almost equally for failures in immigration policy.”
White liberal fantasizing.
“Obama’s Deficit Commission was structured so as to ensure recommendations for, among other things, cuts in Social Security benefits,”
That is true, but I think it more they going ask for SS tax increases under the false premise that SS is in trouble.
OK, how many of those who label themselves as conservatives also support the homosexual name change of same?
It keeps getting alleged. But what are the stats?
I don’t believe it and I’m not buying it.
Sorry wrong quote, should have been “Latino voters”.......
Notice the direction of that soldier’s glance: right at 0bama’s hand on his shoulder.
He doesn’t look pleased.
That patronizing violation of other’s space is a deliberate move by 0bama to put the other person in check, to control the situation.
Just one more clue about 0bama’s superiority complex.
“Don’t tread on me”
I don’t think that is possible...
BUMP!
Any ideas on a preemptive strategy?
He's living in his own world. It's perhaps how he fooled so many into electing him, because he's living in a fantasy and sincerely thought everyone should join him.
What’s most amazing about this is that Democrats generally and the White House specifically seem completely uninterested in doing anything about this — other than exacerbating it.
Welcome to OUR world!
