When I was working on OBDII diagnostics I was at a meeting with someone from CARB.
He told me in no uncertain terms that CARB’s goal was to make sure that eventually NO Diesel engine would ever be allowed in California.
They know as well as I do that 95%+ of Diesel emissions have been eliminated through advances in ECM’s and high pressure rail and injector improvements.
Today’s Diesel engines are not your fathers Diesel engine.
If you see a 1995 or later engine belching white or black smoke from its exhaust then it’s BROKEN.
Europe is embracing small turbocharged Diesels. If we were smart we’d be doing the same!
It’s strictly a political agenda
“He told me in no uncertain terms that CARBs goal was to make sure that eventually NO Diesel engine would ever be allowed in California.”
Does anyone really think they would stop with diesels?
