You would have to hold me at gun point to make me watch this trash. And then I would probably take the gun away from you and shoot you with it.

Had you been forced to endure a showing of something as execrable as Machete, I'd rise from my grave and enthusiastically defend your right to do so in a court of law! ;)

I saw it last night, and at the Phoenix-Worldgate theaters in Herndon (about a 1/2 mile down the road from the "Day Laborer 7/11") where I was one of only two Caucasians in the place (and I wasn't about to ask any of my fellow theater-goers to show me their green cars).
The film's an over-the-top hoot with a lot of very funny moments (Machete and The Padre's - Padre played by Cheech Marin btw - exchange over "Cuban" vs "Mexican", for instance), and while it doesn't rise to the level of some of the classic 70's Blaxploitation films like Blackula or Shaft it's definitely still in the same vein.
It's not a movie for everyone (obviously), but for people out there who get a kick out of Blaxploitation films, South Park and other "no middle ground" films (I really liked "Kick-A&&" too) it's not a bad way to spend a couple hours.
Besides, there are some key takeaways:
Michelle Rodriguez is hot
Jessica Alba is REALLY hot
Lindsay Lohan, if you can ignore the methed-out look on her face, is hot
The C-list actress who plays Lindsay's mom is hot
Oh, and given the audience I saw the movie with, people might be surprised that I heard hoots of laughter rather than vehement yells of "Viva la Revolucion!" and "Viva la Reconquista!"
