AP ^

WASHINGTON — John Boehner could walk down most American streets without turning a head.

But the perpetually tanned, chain-smoking Ohioan might be the next House speaker and a huge force in national politics, trying to manage an increasingly libertarian-leaning Republican caucus while leading the opposition to President Barack Obama's policies.

It’s his turn, doncha know?

The only faction he should worry about is the voters!! I’m sick to death of these people wheeling and dealing and selling us all down the river.

Boehner will win Speaker. He has done a good job of keeping the GOP in line to play prevent defense these last two years.

John “Tan Man” Boehner is going to be a problem. Screw seniority. I am tired of the entitlement mentality that says “my turn”. I want the best. Obie has continually rolled him like a wino on Bourbon Street.

Do they have the experience and organization skills? The right staffers who know the system inside and out? This is why term limits won’t work, too much to know in just a couple of terms.

How has he rolled him? How many voted for Obamacare? (Zero) How many voted for the bailouts? (One)

How was he rolled again?

I think this is part of the problem. They would have us believe that ‘experience and organization skills’ are of supreme importance. All that has gotten us is a headlong rush to socialism, crushing debt and our freedoms inexorably snuffed out. I, for one, am sick of it. THEY WORK FOR US DAMMIT!!!!

Newt Gingrich EARNED his Speakership through his brilliant "Contract with America" counterpoint to Clinton (even though his stupid arrogance later did him in).

WTF has Orangeboy Boner "earned"? Absolutely nothing! If the GOP wins back the House, it will have had NOTHING to do with that milquetoast doofus. and I don't want Eric Cantor either, because he had his wife on C-SPAN and she is a goddamned LIBERAL! NEVER trust a "Conservative" with a liberal wife (just look at how Ted Olson's new left-wing wife corrupted him totally since Barbara's untimely death).

So they suck balls. So, who is the choice of FReepers? Anyone?

God, I hope not.

He has one be one of the most uninspiring guys I’ve ever seen. Sure he may be a good legislator, so make him majority whip....

I want the next Speaker to actually know what’s in the Constitution. I want him/her to hold the line on unconstitutional actions.

That’s not asking too much, is it??????

Hastert and Frist were weak willed leaders who couldn’t keep their own people in line. McConnell and Boehner have done a great job of keeping their people in line. Not saying they deserve the top positions because it’s “their turn”, but they have proved effective after having been dealt a very weak hand these last 3 years.

Here! Here!

Anitius Severinus Boethius and people that think like him are a GIANT part of the problem with washington and the both parties. I say out with them all! Seniority is a joke and this guy has not done anything to earn it!
