Let’s ask Salman Rushdie about Muslim moderation. Let’s ask Theo Van Gogh, or the mutiliated woman, or the silenced murder victims, be they homosexuals or the adulteress. Can we stop the lies for 15 minutes and have an honest discussion? This is such a disingenuous article that I tripped over the hypocrisy.
Muslims have a hair trigger sensitivity to the rejection of the Ground Zero mosque, while in the next breath they are telling the 9/11 victims to shut up and take this so-called wonderful gift. I am sorry but slum lord, Hamas supporting Rauf does not get to decide how 9/11 is commemorated, and it is awfully presumptious of him and other Muslims to put this out there and then call us bigots for rejecting it. Americans are not allowed to have feelings about this heinous murder because we are just bigots - and Muslims are suddenly the arbiters of politeness in society?
I find it repulsive to be lectured about toleration from Islamist propagandists. When one million Christians in Saudi Arabia cannot publicly practice their religion under pain of flogging and jail, I am dumbfounded by the hypocrisy. When they stone women for adultery, mutilate females, engage in honor killings, stab film makers to death, throw homosexuals off buildings, treat women like animals, refuse to educate girls and sell non Muslim black Africans into slavery - I am confused, where is the brotherhood, where is the gentleness of Islam these proponents tell us about? Where are their cultural center shrines for those victims? Can they sanitize their own house before they demand to clean ours?
This is too one-way and until I hear a balanced debate I reject all their claims.
I would respect them greatly if they took their ‘moderate Muslim’ money and built Christian churches in Saudi Arabis for their guest workers. Then I may begin to believe.
The ‘moderates’ in my view have not even attempted to speak out against the massive horrors their co-religionists continue to inflict upon the world, yet their hair trigger sensitivity calls the most tolerant nation on Earth a bunch of bigots. I reject their claim.
Regarding your #124, excellent post! Superb!
Great point. Even John D. Rockefeller, a fierce anti-Catholic, built Catholic churches for the Irish who worked on his estates.
