On the morning of Jan. 26, Sharif Mobley stepped out of his apartment in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, to buy some cereal for his sleeping 3-year-old daughter. The young American from New Jersey was surrounded by eight black-clad, masked operatives from the country's secret police. Mobley turned to run, but he was shot in the leg and bundled into the back of a white van. When Mobley shouted "I'm an American," he was hit in the face. As the van sped away, Mobley later told his lawyers, one of his Yemeni captors made a call....
Eight months later, the 26-year-old is set to go on trial this month for killing a prison guard, a crime punishable by death. In Yemen, the condemned are executed in a public square with a single bullet to the heart. U.S. officials see Mobley as one of a growing cadre of native-born Americans who are drawn to violent jihad. "This doesn't seem to be a case of the accidental extremist," said one U.S. official..."He sought out bad actors before leaving the United States and joined up with terrorists after moving to Yemen. That includes, among other things, putting his ideas for terrorist attacks on the table."...
...She said they began to consider moving to Yemen after striking up a friendship with a family from Yemen they met...They also contacted an American in Yemen whose teachings they had heard on religious CDs: Aulaqi. Mobley's wife said that her husband e-mailed the cleric, seeking advice on where he should study...
...U.S. officials say they believe Mobley wanted to volunteer for the fight, and hid his true intent under the guise of attending language school in Yemen....

A man without a country now, by and of his own doing. The biggest question this raises is why did he (and his wife) think they could move to Yemen, join up with terrorists, and suffer no consequences whatsoever? What gave him that idea? Why did he think it was a good, viable plan for his family. What was the basis of his belief that he could do this and go unscathed? A man with a wife and a child, no less.
But you can count on the pro-terrorist left rallying to his cause.
Satan.
And I am not being quip.
Most of the world does not treat terrorists like the Americans do. There is no GITMO in the middle east. The press there will not care. The are no Micheal Moore's that will do a dopey documentary on you. They will torture you for any useful info and then execute you. And nobody will care if NOW you think being an American is so important...
because you can come to this country illegally, commit crimes
and not be held accountable. there is no accountability
unless you are actual tax paying citizen. then, you are
screwed.
Yes, but the delightful part of it is, they will have to go to the paradise that is Yemen in order to rally. I am not going to hold my breath.
Sitting here trying to cough up some sympathy for him...Tsk Tsk...no luck.
AINO
And this is why our coward and weak press and administration and others who shout good for the terrorists refuse to live in these countries. They know they are just fodder for these crazies.
Am I missing something?
Yeah, you missed the Wash Post’s “they’re being mean to him unfairly” part.
I can’t wait for this scumbag to be executed. The world is better off without him. Major kudos to Yemen for saving the US taxpayer tons of money that would be needed to try, imprison and deal with this traitor.
Typical. Oh well. Buh-bye, bub. Your Islamic friends are in charge of you now.
First thing he yelled when snatched:
“I’m an American!”
Why not “Allu Akbar!”
Taqqiya.
I wonder if the arabic word for “sucker” was heard when this scumbag claimed that he was an “American.”
The irony is stunning. He turns his back on the country of his birth, goes to fight for his county’s enemies, and then squeals like a little girl that he is an American and demands Americans defend him when his deeds catch up with him. I do not think the Yemenis put up with very much BS.
TS, let them rid us of this garbage.
He is no longer an American, if he ever was! He deserves his fate.
