In the wake of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks relaunch in Washington last week, and ahead of Hillary Clinton and George Mitchell heading to the next round of talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt and Jerusalem next week, the Obama administration is continuing to step up its outreach to Jewish and Muslim American leaders and other key domestic constituencies.

President Barack Obama himself will do a "Rosh Hashana" conference call with rabbis this afternoon on, Jewish leaders said. And Vice President Joseph Biden hosts Jewish leaders at a pre-Rosh Hashana reception at his Naval Observatory residence this evening.

Clinton, meantime, hosts an Iftar dinner that will include "some of the best and most innovative American Muslim leaders under 30" this evening, as the State Department described the "Generation Change" event. She also gave a joint interview to Israeli and Palestinian television journalists Friday, a day after she hosted face to face talks of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas at the State Department last week.

For those of us Orthodox Christians on the New Calendar, today is the Forefeast of the Nativity of the Theotokos (Mother of God), and tomorrow is the Feast itself. (These events are 13 days later for Serbian Orthodox and others on the Old Calendar.)

This is an important feast—not only is it one of the Twelve Great Feasts, but it is the first Great Feast of the New Church Year, which began on September 1st. This feast heralds the coming of Salvation!

I doubt if Barack Hussein obama will call even ONE Orthodox Patriarch, Metropolitan, Bishop, or priest. Nor will he or Hillary host any dinners to celebrate our Feast. Nor will either one of them show any support for the rebuilding of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on the sacred ground of “Ground Zero”, sown with the sacred relics of Sts. Nicholas, Sava, and Catherine.

Besides that, obama’s Rosh Hashanah call and Biden’s reception are merely a sop to the Jewish community. Their real favorites are the muslims.

Obama has Reform Jews locked-up. Reform Judaism is to Judaism as dysentary is to fine dining. But Conservative and Orthodox Jews rightly regard Obama as an enemy of Judaism and Israel.

My guess is that the large majority of those rabbis invited to conference with "Osama" Obama are indeed Reform. (Participation is by White House invitation only.) But let's not paint all Reform rabbis with too broad of a brush.

Did anyone notice that the rabbis who participated were admonished by the White House not to put anything about the content of the conference on Facebook or Twitter?

I'd suspect that the Reform rabbi who co-officiated at the Chelsea Clinton wedding was at or near the top of the invitation list.
