Because it's an idiotic question. I've read a lot about the Southern Rebellion and Sherman's campaign and nowhere did I come across a single instance where Sherman organized a book burning. But then again I'm not up on all the Lost Cause fantasy sites that are out there so maybe you can point me to something that describes them? This should be amusing.
I see you have your usual weasel words to change the premise. You’re right, Sherman didn’t go into the south with an address book of which buildings to burn; so therefore, the burning wasn’t organized. But it was widespread, and the burning included libraries.

“Then at last the courier returned, the general’s answer was disheartening. “My orders leave me no discretion,” wrote Croxton. “My orders are to destroy all public buildings.”

“Federal troops then began throwing flaming combustibles through the open door of the Rotunda and onto the roof. In a matter of minutes, the building was engulfed in flames. The raiders then turned their attention to the other buildings, and soon almost the entire campus was ablaze.”
