TORRANCE, Calif. – Toyota Motor Corp., hoping to solidify its standing as the top brand for Hispanic buyers in the U.S., is offering drivers a series of stickers that celebrates their Hispanic heritage.
The decals contain the phrase "somos muchos," or "we are many," followed by cultures, regions and popular descriptors from all over Latin America, such as "somos muchos Mexicanos" and "somos muchos Hondurenos." The decals, designed to be stuck on bumpers or windows, come in more than 100 different versions and are available in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Meanwhile, my wife teaches ninth graders. When my son was deployed to Afghan my wife put his picture on her desk and told her students about his deployment. The white kids barely showed any concern about him. The hispanic kids were very concerned about his safety and asked how our family was doing. One hispanic boy even wants to be a Marine because of my son's example. Bottom line: you can't generalize about people.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that the Hispanics are not being let in here to be “guest workers”; they are being allowed in to be consumers. Go to the malls and stores here in northern NJ, and they’re the only ones shopping (by that I mean actually buying things, not window shopping). They pay cash, and any business is happy to have them; they p!ss away money on Coronas instead of buying a cheaper US beer (I don’t think much of those “remittances” are getting back there anymore, at least not from our area). I guess if we didn’t have those stupid “income tax” and “health insurance” costs to deal with, we’d have a lot more discretionary income as well.
As far as the story with your son, I wouldn’t be surprised if many of them had family over there as well; they seem to be over-represented in the military (and not in a bad way).

Silly. You could say the same thing about just about everyone including those of us who are eligible to be President. The state, especially this one, is supposed to exist for the benefit of the people, not the other way around JFK notwithstanding.
