*We reject “The Deal”.

The Deal says that if we tippy-toe around Muslim sensibilities and don’t get in their way as they sow the seeds of our eventual destruction, they will calm down and give us a little, temporary peace.

But that is not really true. If we accept this outrage, there will be some new, even more outrageous, provocation soon to follow. They will always take offense and resort to violence, because that is simply what they do.

And at every stage, we will be told that if submit to this one small thing, everything will be fine. But that is a lie, and it always has been.*

And they are $250k behind in their property taxes on the half they do own.

Absolutely right. This is going to remain their strategy for as long as we let it work. Either we stop it now, or we stop it later, or we don’t stop it at all. I vote for #1. As I had said in another post, we need to start burning one Koran for every one American flag. We need a consistent response. We need to let whoever is burning an American flag know that THEIR ACTIONS will DIRECTLY result in the burning of a Koran. It’s not the severity of a response, it’s the consistancy. That’s what we need to establish.

I’m not sure I would use Ground Zero as a defining “fault line” between Islam and the West. From a political, economic, or religious standpoint, what exactly is “Western” about Ground Zero and Lower Manhattan, NY?

Very good point.

I've long felt that "Islam is a religion of peace" and "illegal immigrants have rights" only when the U.S. economy is roaring along and the U.S. unemployment rate is around 5%.

When ordinary people are facing distress in their daily lives, they tend not to have the time and patience for the bullsh!t their political leaders try to hand them on a daily basis.

The greatest farce today is, as this article puts it, what our opinion elites like to call the “mainstream”.

Having over the years succeeded in taking over the educational system and most organs of the major media, and nothing else of consequence, Leftists today proclaim their views and opinions "mainstream", in spite of the fact they are a distinct minority (just as what came to be known in Russia as the "Bolsheviks" (majority) were quite really "Mensheviks" (minority), despite Kerensky's fawning agreement on this important semantic point with Lenin).

We've been down this road before, and we are not impressed, and we're not going to be swayed by the rhetoric.

Our paternalistic "elites" are going to find out point blank just what "mainstream" thought is in America circa 2010 in less than 2 months. In the meantime, I must continue to suppress the urge to barf whenever I encounter this Orwellian perversion our media serves up daily telling us what's "mainstream", when in reality it is no such thing.

My work is cut out for me, but I think I can make it.

CA....

this is why I suspect that Terry Jones is secretly getting a payoff from George Soros somehow.

Would be interesting to know if that's the case.

Yep, that's the Deal that many folks assumed they were getting when they voted for Obama. They were convinced by the MSM that if Obama were elected, then the whole world, which hated us because of that Cowboy George W. Bush, would love us, and the Muslims wouldn't call us bad names and try to kill us anymore.

Hasn't exactly work out that way, has it?
