Ron Paul on Quran Burning: "The Real Provocateurs" (Blames the Military)
News Blaze ^

Posted on 09/08/2010 5:27:57 PM PDT by mnehring

LAKE JACKSON, Texas - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Congressman Ron Paul today issued the following statement about a Florida pastor's plan to ban copies of the Quran on the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

"A professed Christian pastor in Gainesville, Florida, Terry Jones, plans to burn copies of the Quran on 9/11. He indicts all Islam for 9/11 and argues that it is a hate-driven religion. He's convinced he's on God's side even though he is getting little support from other Christians, who believe that Jesus is the Prince of Peace.....

...our policies of torture, targeted assassination, invasion of Muslim countries and unintended infliction of civilian casualties in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are also provocative. Pictures of victims of torture as well as innocent people killed by drones and stray bombs are every bit as bad as burning the Quran.

I have to say, this guy’s timing is incredible! He has exposed everyone as Constitutional hypocrites!!!

Amazing, even the Great Dr. Paul.

LOL, I am sorry but this is actually funny now.

The best I can figure, Paul is a non-interventionist, which means, in his world, we can’t do anything outside our borders, but if some nuts want to come in our borders and do something, like fly planes into buildings, we can’t intervene back.

In other words, he is all for the intervention of other nations into our business but we can’t lift a pinkey to defend our own interests.

I’m a Ron Paul supporter, but did Ron Paul really need to make that statement?

Is he worried that people might forget that he’s against these wars? What’s the point?

Saying this stuff just gives everyone here a reason to say how much they don’t like Ron Paul.

Lots of people here like a lot of stuff Ron Paul says. He should say more of that and less of the stuff that the people here hate.

The infideliphobes policies of torture, targeted assassination, invasion of non-Muslim countries and intended infliction of civilian casualties in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Great Britain, France, Russia, United States, Thailand, Philippines, India etc., etc. are provocative. Pictures of victims of torture as well as innocent people killed by Quranic bombers are sufficient reason to burn the Quran.

Ron Paul...you have the right to remain silent. Resign. Idiot. POS.

I think Ron Paul is a libertarian gone bad, the government is a problem, but big government especially. Ron has jumped the shark.

Motion seconded.

Ron Paul is better than a typical libertarian. The Libertarians all agree with his war stuff. Libertarians are also typically pro Roe v Wade and Ron Paul is against. Ron Paul would defend our borders, while many Libertarians wouldn’t. Both RP and the Libertarians are in favor of much less government.

I do wish RP would shut up about wars and islam and the like.

He’d be in good shape if all of a sudden people started liking muslims and started really hating wars.

It could happen, but is unlikely in the next 2 years.

I CANNOT believe how many people on a “conservative” forum respect this POS.

Ron Paul has gone way past the kook stage and is a total dirtbag. I want to spit in his face as much as I want to do the same to Nancy and Harry.

We have liberated 50 million people from despotic rule in the Middle East....And this is all he ever has to say about our military???

They are all America-hating leftists of the same lowly cabal and can rot in hell together.

What do you get when you have a basic defensible argument gone awry?

Ron Paul

Bloody nutter and someone one day is going to pull out an audio tape where he blames it all on the jews. It’s only a matter of time.

...one day is going to pull out an audio tape where he blames it all on the jews.

It is actually in writing with his name on it (his newsletters from the 80s) but even though it was written in first person and has personal stories in it, the Fraud Paul camp claimed he never wrote it, they were ghost written (possibly by Lew Rockwell).

If Ron Paul ever made domestic policy there would be rioting in the streets - but why would you ever trust someone who hates our armed forces with any responsibility?

“It is the duty of Muslims to react ... the first and most important reaction will be that wherever Americans are seen, they will be killed. No matter where they will be in the world they will be killed.”

~ Mohammad Mukhtar, cleric and candidate for the Afghan parliament

Sura [9.29] Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection

“a Christian...is not a full citizen and cannot exercise political rights in any of the countries which were once conquered by Islam.”

Other European travelers to the Holy Land mentioned the practice whereby “a dhimmi must not come face to face with a Muslim in the street but pass him to the left, the impure side,” and described how Christians were humiliated and insulted in the streets of Jerusalem until the mid-1800s. The British consul in Jerusalem wrote that in the Holy Land, particularly in Jerusalem until 1839, Christians were pushed into the gutter by any Muslim who would swear: “turn to my left, thou dog.” They were forbidden to ride on a mount in town or to wear bright clothes.

In the early 1900s, sporadic attacks on Christians by bands of Muslims occurred in many Palestinian towns. During the Palestinian Arab revolt in the late 1930s, which involved very few Christians, if Christian villagers refused to supply the terrorist bands with weapons and provisions, their vines were uprooted and their women raped. The rebels forced the Christian population to observe the weekly day of rest on Friday instead of Sunday and to replace the tarboosh with the kaffiyeh for men, whereas women were forced to wear the veil. In 1936, Muslims marched through the Christian village of Bir Zayt near Ramallah chanting: “We are going to kill the Christians.”

From 1953 until 1967, Jordan undertook to Islamize the Christian quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem by laws forbidding Christians to buy land and houses. It ordered the compulsory closure of schools on Muslim holidays and authorized mosques to be built near churches, thus preventing any possibility of enlargement.

I think Paul needs to get a promotion from the Ross Perot comparison.. He either has earned his LaRouche wings...

Or has joined the L.Ron Hubbard Sea Org

I vote for the latter.
