A pro-family leader says despite President Obama's low approval ratings, he shows no sign of detouring from his message promoting big-government solutions.
At a rally in Milwaukee on Monday, Obama said rebuilding 150,000 miles of road, working on 4,000 miles of rail track, and restoring 150 miles of runways would create new jobs for Americans.
"We want to change the way Washington spends your tax dollars," said the president. "We want to reform the way we fund and maintain our infrastructure to focus less on wasteful earmarks and outdated formulas, and we want competition and innovation that gives us the best bang for the buck."
According to Rasmussen Reports, President Obama's "approval index" has dropped consistently since he took office, sitting at -18 (26% strongly approve vs. 44% strongly disapprove, as of Sept. 8, 2010). Kenneth Blackwell of the Family Research Council says as the president's approval rating continues to decline, Obama takes a more aggressive approach to silence his critics.
"The president is at his best when he is campaigning. When it comes to governing, he leaves a lot to be desired," Blackwell states matter-of-factly. "But he is rapidly and determinedly trying to change our culture from one where earning money does not entitle you to it, but wanting money does -- and that's the moral basis of a redistributionist economy."

President Obama's proposal calls for a $50-billion program he says will jump-start job creation and rebuild a deteriorating U.S. infrastructure.

Obummer has proven that America would be better off without him. He is the anti-president!
He wants it to go right in His stash instead of having to account for it at all..
What a dork, worst president ever...
Excellent way to describe it. (Too bad it's too long for a tag line.)
Obama's stealing John McCain's number one cheap applause line. Those earmarks amount to around $25 billion annually, but Obama throws out another $30 billion or $50 billion new spending, or stimulus proposal every other week. How lucky we (and children and grandchildren) would be now if those horrible earmarks were the only questionable spending going on these days.
And that doesn't even consider the $1.6 trillion or so spent on TARP and Obama's big stimulus in 2009.
Moral basis? What the heck is moral about that?
But you’re thinking of “moral” from an absolute standpoint - they don’t.
They go the Genesis 3:4 route and define morality for themselves.
Some guy named Mao tried it already.
Unless “O” makes sure the schools completely and permanently omit or rewrite THAT colossal piece of historic idiocy, he wont have a chance of putting it over here!!
Time for O to go bye bye.
This sham of a sham and howling lunatic posturing as the President of the United States has forgotten (if he ever knew) that the office of the President of America was designed to prohibit just the kind of arbitrary and independent power he thinks he may exercise in that office to coerce us and to defraud Americans of their individual autonomy.
America
.depart from hard-won freedoms and time tested tradition at your own peril!!
Yeah, I'd like to change it too - I'd like it to stop, well, more realistically be reduced by about 75%. I'd also like for them to only spend the tax money they actually have. I'd also like Washington to get it's tax money via a fair-tax rate rather than the "progressive" ladder we have now that unfairly penalizes success.
"The president is at his best when he is campaigning. When it comes to governing, he leaves a lot to be desired," Blackwell states matter-of-factly. No thank you. That is definitely not a change in American culture I will ever support. America is about liberty and freedom not socialism.
out of the frying pan into the fire........
but but but they NEED the money, may not have a legal basis for it however that is beside the point
What a load of crap.
All these jobs will be Union jobs; they are the only people who get big infrastructure jobs and once all of their people are employed, they will throw some crumbs/job openings out to the non-union workers, but you’ll have to join to take the job. And once the job is finished, you’re laid off again.
Hubby has been there...it’s a racket.
Barry’s problem is that while he has talked incessantly about how he is reforming government he actually does not have any innovative ideas. He has simply given a green light to every expensive kooky scheme that Dem hacks can come up with. He’s a rubber stamp for unlimited budgeting without critically analyzing what he is spending/approving. He rubberstamps thousand page bills that no one has read other than the teams of unelected lefty draftsmen. Barry is probably just supplied a one page of bullet point cliff notes of the thousand page bills he automatically agrees to. No one is steering the ship here. It’s just a carnival of unaccountable spending.
“Excellent way to describe it. (Too bad it’s too long for a tag line.)”
He wants to change government of the people, by the people, for the people into government as organized theft.
A bunch of islamists working on runways. barry´s jihad moves right along.
Bears repeating.
He is certainly the anti-Reagan, who loved America and sought to strengthen it.
“...change our culture from one where earning money does not entitle you to it, but wanting money does.”
A redistributionist says “I want money.” A tax collector says “I want your money.” An extortionist says “I want your money or else.” An armed robber simply shoots you and takes your wallet. The only difference among them is whether they approach you with a smile...
what his supporters really want is WPA v.2.0, and that will take way more than $50 bil.
I guess this means the bastard plans to STOP PROPPING UP THE LABOR UNIONS, too? Just wondered...... Earmarks, you know.
