Tea party favorite Christine ODonnell is seeking the GOP nomination for the Senate seat formerly held by Joe Biden in Delaware, and she tells Newsmax we absolutely must extend or make permanent the Bush tax cuts set to expire in January.
[Snip]
ODonnell notes that Castle was one of the few Republicans who voted for cap-and-trade legislation.
Hes voted with Barack Obama on just about every major bill, and cap and trade seems to be the one voters are most concerned about. Because whether its a farmer or a small business owner or a senior citizen, everyone is concerned about what cap-and-trade will do and Mike Castle continues to support it.
Nobody wants cap and trade, nobody other than Mike Castle and the Wall Street bankers who stand to make seven-figure kickbacks from the commodities markets that will be created as a result of this bad piece of legislation.
Asked whether she favors extending the Bush tax cuts, ODonnell tells Newsmax: We absolutely must extend if not make permanent the tax cuts that are going to expire in January.
We see Washington approaching this economic problem with more spending. That only serves to increase the debt.
My Republican opponent is calling himself a fiscal conservative, but hes continually supported Barack Obamas big spending bills. He supported an earmark to pay $19 million for folks to eat clams if theyve never had a clam before. Its that ridiculous. Theres so much waste going on, and Mike Castle has supported it.

Go Christine!!!
I've never been sold on Boehner either. He comes across as too DC-entrenched to me.
“Unfortunately, Would-be Speaker of the House, Boehner simply wants to freeze the Bush tax cuts for two years”
Well, it’s probably moot anyways until BHO is gone. Little chance he’d sign it into law- it would take away the only slogan he really has anymore- that he’s against ‘tax cuts for the rich’.

The ‘rich’ are actually paying more now believe it or not.
It's true and we have a 30 year track record to look at. The Reagan tax cuts not only increased government revenue, they also increased the percentage of taxes collected from higher income Americans.
She’s right, and it needs to be the priority for the next Congress. Yes, Obama will veto it, but make him veto it.
All tax cuts must be accompanied by comparable spending cuts. We can no longer keep piling on to the national debt.
Although ALL tax rate cuts generate MORE tax revenue, we need to ALSO reduce spending by at least 50% - do BOTH!!!!
