I’m not going to look for transcripts, but Hewitt is one of the most dedicated Romney true believers, that has even become one of the pro Mormon enablers, and he is no fan of Palin.

He shilled for Romney in 2008, even wrote a book about it. I have no idea where he stands on Romney today, but wouldn't doubt he still supports him.

What I saw from Hewitt at this event was someone who admired her very much. He wasn't damning her with faint praise, he was saying what a wonderful representative of conservatism she was. It was over the top praise from him and was very sincere.
