The Defense Department is attempting to buy the entire first printing - 10,000 copies - of a memoir by a controversial former Defense Intelligence Agency officer so that the book can be destroyed, according to military and other sources.

"Operation Dark Heart," which was scheduled to be published this month by St. Martin's Press, recounts the adventures and frustrations of an Army reservist, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, who served in Afghanistan in 2003, a moment when the attention of Washington and the military had shifted to Iraq.

Sad day indeed.Everything is upside down and inside out. We have a president and media berating our fellow countrymen as bigots and ‘islamophobes’ on the eve of 911. We are suppose to honor Muslims tomorrow instead of the victims of hate filled Islamists(according to Obama and the media). We are suppose to allow a victory mosque built on the sacred 911 ground in NY(while the very iman that is going to build it and works for our own State Department) threatens us with violence. We are suppose to stand down from free speech rights now when it comes to Islam. I can’t take much more tonight. My heart is so big and sore it’s about to burst! Nothing makes sense to me anymore(except the sanity I find on FR).

What really got me was this morning on F&F when they showed DNA markers by the hundred all over the building site for the NYC Mosque. Nothing drives how or what these terrorists are up to like that did.

They literally want to build a mosque(which I equate with a terrorist hideout) directly over the DNA of our fallen citizens to celebrate one of the few victories they have had over we infidels.

IF that's not sick I don't know what is.

But remember it's not built yet.

That was before the war on terror - foreign and domestic - to protect American freedom. Now we are book burners, free speech haters and Islam is our country’s roots and that is why we need a victory mosque in NY at ground zero... The military is protecting freedom. Rest easy. :)

The publication of the initial edition was canceled. However, after consulting with the author, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, St. Martin’s Press agreed to incorporate some of the government’s changes, which includes redacting classified text, into a revised edition, which is releasing on September 24.
