The Free Republic New York Times death pool is now open!

...and I’ll guess the last issue will be...

July 30, 2011.

Maybe the Saudis ccan send Carlos Slim $500 million to keep the S.S. NY Times afloat a bit longer.

Looks like Carlos pissed some serious bux down the proverbial Rat Hole!

So how’s that “hope and change” working out for you jerks at the slimes?

Well don’t worry - Maureen Dowd will keep her million dollar paychecks. :)

Judging by the slimes' news coverage it is quite possible they already have.

They have always taken the liberal side, at least in modern times. The difference is that before alternative media, nobody knew they were being fed a contrived diet of leftwing hash. There was no fact checker until internet, cable news, and talk radio came along. Now they can't pull the same ol' sh*t, but they are too rigid and too entrneched to do anything else.

Periodical print media for general news just doesn't cut it anymore. As someone pointed out, by way of comparison, who needs a "News"-"Week" when you can get news reliably almost as it breaks, and mostly for free? Same for a "national" newspaper--On Sunday The NY Slimes will give you Saturday's news, which you already read on the internet on Saturday. Or Friday.

I get the Sunday paper for the sports section, esp. during football season, and a local county-level paper so I can find out what my idiot neighbors are up to. That's about it. The local is doing fine btw.
