Link is to video of Kudlow interviewing Gregg.
Gregg says Obama and Dems spending is intentional, so that we'll have no choice but to institute a value-added tax (VAT) so our tax policy mimics the European model.
A few examples:
This spending is being done intentionally.
VAT is the plan.
Down the European road.

PLEASE watch the Gregg video linked above TO THE END.
I absolutely concur.
And he knows his stuff.
Ive had my suspicions, but Ive never heard Gregg state it so plainly.
It is rare for democrats to ever own up to their true agenda.
At least this dirtbag is being honest.
Democrat scu&bags in action. But, scu&bags is a word that’s inadequate to describe the antics of slimy creatures from he**.
IMHO
Many call Gregg a RINO, but as far as I know he's the only one Senator to put "Obama" and "socialist" in the same sentence.
Gregg is a republican.
If it is being done intentionally... and IF a VAT is the next step, then it follows that BANKRUPTCY is ALSO in the plan, because any new tax would KILL us.
You do know Judd Gregg is a Republican ...
VAT to finance a bailout of public employee pensions, local, state, and federal.

He was going to be the Commerce Secretary but then found out he would have been just an ornament for ‘bi-partianship’.
Ahh but there is a choice.
I don’t think they are going to like it more than Louise 14 liked it, should it come to pass.
In their defense, if you have a plan that's both wildly unpopular and shockingly irresponsible, you've got to dress it up somehow.
Kinda like sneaking poison into chocolate pudding.
The money is a socialist looting of the economy. Divert funds to interests that can be expected to “pay back” the Party over the next several election cycles.
The dire straits it puts this nation in (busting the nation’s wealth) allows him to spin a “need” for radical (socialist) changes.
We can’t wait until 2012 to stop this planned destruction of our economy. The time to stop the Obama agenda is NOW.
I believe it.
Obama is devious and evil.
If the government spends too much, it should cut its expense account, not suck up more taxpayer money.
Axelrod should have waited for Gregg to be confirmed before showing his hand. Then, he would have had another Democrat Senator in Congress, too.
A bad play all around.

As I have said before;
This is all Congresses fault and deliberate!
They understand classic economics 101 very well; disrupt it enough and you can do whatever you darn well please!
The political class and Friends of Government intend to use this as one of their cash cows to personal perpetual prosperity.
Ironic that Sen. Gregg is calling Obama a socialist, while Gregg himself is a TARPer.
this was posted earlier that they are going to pass a 1% transaction tax. HR4646 http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2586613/posts
I always suspected the 1099 requirement for all transactions was the preliminary way they would be able to handle the VAT tax.
I am so tired of these politicians wanting to add more taxes so they can transfer my tax money to their favored supporters. Why does it take a retiring politician, to say they need to money because they wont stop spending. Starve the Beast
He was Bush's point man on TARP. I sensed something changed radically (in Gregg) at that time. He looked and acted as though he'd seen a ghost.
I also think the coming 1099 tax form next year for EVERY transaction over $600 is a prelude to the VAT. The government has to know what the transactions are that they can tax.
Yes! Like I just posted.

Value-added Tax
The VAT is coming. They just know they cant do it before the election.
My fear is that the credit markets blow up on us again, well get some shot across the bow by the bond market one of these days.
And if the Democrats are still in power, that will bring us the VAT.
They will say they have no choice but to do it to save the creditworthiness of the government.
It will kind of be like another TARP weekend where the Treasury Secretary and the Fed chairman come to Capitol Hill hyperventilating and out of that comes a VAT.
Our government is premeditating a moment like that.
*** But there is another way ***
with real entitlement reform,
real tax reform,
fulfilling health and retirement security
but also paying off our debts
and making our economy really competitive.
Everything Obama has done has been deliberate. His aim is not to improve the job situation. His aim is to fundamentally change our economy so that it is controlled by the CENTRAL GOVERNMENT.
He voted for Kagan, he’s a dirtbag, liberal, traitor.
so that we’ll have no choice but to.....
Gregg, you better stop thinking like that RIGHT NOW!. Of COURSE there’s a choice. You can slash spending. You want to destroy the Republican party forever just keep going downt the “No Choice” path. We will hold you accountable.
The socialists are the ones who back the demand-side, long-term entitlement society.
He voted for Kagan: she's the one that argued in front of the Supreme Court that Congress had the authority to ban books, and that Americans have no rights covered by the Ninth Amendment. He should have just pissed on Geeorge Washington's Grave. He's a TRAITOR.
Why doesn’t he go one step further and tell everyone this spending is filling the slush funds; not what they say it is for?
This is an excerpt from a speech in Congress, from before the November 2008 election. I think both parties can be damned for increasing the scope of federal government.
We have seen this Government socialize our education system and make our schools among the worst in the world. We have seen this Government take over most of our health care system, making private insurance less and less affordable. We have seen this Government socialize our energy resources and bring our Nation to its knees by cutting the development of our own oil and natural gas supplies. And now we see this Congress yielding its constitutional obligations to a Federal bureaucracy, giving it the power to control virtually our entire financial system.
IMPEACH.
NOW.
THEN REMOVE.
REPEAT AS NEEDED.
Politicians acting in “bad faith” with respect to their constituents.
Bureaucrats are not immune to prosecution and liability for that sort of behavior.
Cloward Piven
Don’t worry. Anything these reprobates can do, President Palin can undo.
“Bureaucrats are not immune to prosecution and liability for that sort of behavior.”
Them seem to have been immune until now, and will probably be immune way into the future.
I hope that this was no surprise to Kudlow since he was stating the obvious.
My fear is come January a Republican majority in one or both houses will be pressured to make a grand bargain with Baby Jesus, imaginary spending cuts for a VAT...I hope they are smart and tough enough to shoot it down or a third party will become a reality.
They are both statist. One takes from you and me and gives to private corporations[TARP]. The other takes from me and gives to other people.
Your only creating excuses for Gregg. Not only that, he’s a big supporter of the Fed, ie central planning.
Does he really think that if the Rats piss record amounts of money away that we will reward them by giving them MORE money to piss away?
