Gun rights advocates are up in arms that a Texas gun dealer was sentenced to six months in prison for selling a firearm to an illegal immigrant, but a "middle-man" who bought the gun for the immigrant -- and who was in the U.S. illegally himself, but had a valid driver's license -- was never arrested, charged or deported in the case.
Paul Copeland, 56, a Vietnam veteran, was sentenced to prison time and two years probation in federal court last week for selling a gun to an undocumented alien, Hipolito Aviles, at the Texas Gun Show in Austin in January.
But Aviles wasn't the man who handed Copeland the money for the gun. That man was Leonel Huerta Sr., who presented as identification the valid Texas driver's license he had obtained before his visa expired in 2007.
Copeland claimed he was presented with a valid driver's license and had no way of knowing that the man he was selling the gun to was an illegal immigrant, or that he intended to give the gun to another illegal immigrant.

So all these lib nuts have been telling me that the Fourteenth Amendment says that illegals are “subject to the jurisdiction” of our country, and their children born in this country are therefore also “subject to” our laws which according to them, makes them automatic citizens.
Well obviously, by this event, illegals are not “subject to” our laws because the middle man illegal wasn’t even arrested. They bypassed him entirely and went for the gun dealer.
Sure, why not... the BATF thinks they can read minds and predict behavior so why not you?
If you sell illegal drugs to an illegal person, don’t the two “illegals” cancel out and make the whole thing OK?

And obviously an ignorant jury.
Or the jury following the very limited, narrow in scope, unrealistic instructions of a Federal Judge...

Likely the biggest crime involved here was that the Indie gun dealer sold a gun to an illegal alain while being white.

Outrageous conduct by the prosecutor. What’s the gun dealer supposed to do? Say to the buyer, “Give me the gun back because you let your friend hold it”
Gun dealer does not have ESP. A very thin case here and what are agents doing in the store in the first place? They don’t have anything better to do obviously. More useless bureaucrats sucking down tax dollars
