A determined Republican stall campaign in the Senate has sidetracked so many of the men and women nominated by President Barack Obama for judgeships that he has put fewer people on the bench than any president since Richard Nixon at a similar point in his first term 40 years ago.

Except the two most important judges that should have been blocked - were allowed to walk right in...

"A determined Republican stall campaign in the Senate has sidetracked so many of the men and women nominated by President Barack Obama for judgeships that he has put fewer people on the bench than any president since Richard Nixon at a similar point in his first term 40 years ago."

That seems to contradict the headline! Are they saying Zero is more successful at getting judges confirmed than Nixon, or are they saying that the reporter was too lazy to look up the record of any President prior to Gerald Ford?

Harry Reid refused to bring these judges up when they had a 60-vote democratic majority. It’s not the republican’s fault.

NO JUDGE has been successfully filibustered yet.

Yep. It's like that recess appointment Obama made for Donald Berwick. They had the votes, but they didn't want to have the hearings because they'd be to politically uncomfortable.

The guy has damn-near had a super-majority his entire Presidency, and the media is moaning about judicial vacancies. It's ridiculous.

Nixon’s nominations were pretty uncontroversial. Contrary to the leftist meme, Nixon was a RINO. Obama hasn’t made a single nomination that should have been confirmed. Not one.

A Federal judge over ruled Prop 8 in Calif. Another one is trying to force the military to accept openly gay people. Another one sided with the Obama Administration against the State of Arizona. There is absolutely NO reason Republicans should confirm ANY more Federal judges as long as Obama is President.

Yep. More than 20% of the Supreme Court is Obama territory now. Another reason to root out his place of birth. On the chance of ineligibility, these appointments would be invalid, along with a whole lot of statist legislation.

Big difference between no success and no effort.

Kagan in particular was caught out tampering with evidence. She could have been stopped more easily than the overtly prejudiced Sotomayor.

This is only payback for what the Dems did to George Bush, especially over the last 2 years of his term... Good to see the Republicans play it rough — I hope it LASTS.

A democrat senate majority this large can for a time be delayed, but not stopped. That’s arithmetic.

Elections have consequences. A point so many here ignored in 2008 when they rambled on how republicans needed to be “taught a lesson”.
