Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will mark the ninth anniversary of 9/11 with a speech Friday in New York vowing to keep up the fight against terrorists and to “to enlist the nation in its own collective security.”

Wife was in the mall today. She reported that she saw four separate units of LEOs, four men to each, two with dogs, patrolling the mall. Three were city police, the fourth was state troopers.

Giving this degree of attention to a mall on 9/11 suggests just how safe the authorities think we are: Not much.

We've been at this War on Terror thing for nine years now. Yet a mall in Fort Worth, Texas is judged vulnerable to a terrorist attack.

This circumstance suggests to me that we ain't winning...
