ALBANY -- A stunning new poll released yesterday shows controversial megamillionaire Buffalo builder Carl Paladino overtaking former Long Island Congress man Rick Lazio in Tuesday's Republican gubernatorial primary.

The Siena College Research Institute survey found that the hard-charging Paladino (pictured) -- who has vowed to turn state government "upside down" -- is now trailing Lazio by just 43-42 percent among likely GOP voters, a dramatic change from a Siena poll last month that showed him trailing Lazio by 43-30 percent.

This is amazing news. The NY GOP party (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat PArty and Sheldon Silver)

Lazio us a RINO who supports abortion and is ant-gun

I cannot believe govnervative party in NY endorsed him- he is also going to lose THAT line in the primary

The NY GOP hand picked this RINO and is full of good-ol-boy old time politico's WHO NEED TO GO!

Lazio is a nice guy but we don’t need nice guys in Albany. We need a you-know-what who will stand up to Shelly and the boys, and throw Albany into a massive hissy fit.

Lazio is truly a lightweight. Beating Cuomo is nearly impossible, but perhaps a Ray of hope.

Lazio’s refusal to debate Palladino is telling. He is a lightweight.

Wow! I donated to Lazio’s campaign against Hillary but he’s done nothing this time around to get people excited.

I wondered about Paladino’s viability, just because of being from Buffalo. I wasn’t sure that downstaters would vote for him.

Cuomo may be inevitable anyway, but I had already decided to vote for Paladino Tuesday. This is great news. The race will be a lot more interesting if he’s in it! We already know that Lazio can’t win a statewide race.

yes, Lazio is a nice guy and I appreciated him running against Hillary, BUT he is not conservative enough for me. so, by default, I support Paladino.

Go George Phillips for Congress!

If the election was held today, Cuomo would romp.

The election will NOT be held today.

If Palladino can beat Lazio, I think he WILL have a shot against Cuomo. I live in New York and I don’t know one person who wants another Cuomo in Albany, and with today’s political climate being what it is, Palladino has a shot.

This would have been the perfect time to go after Schumer, too. Hell, if I didn’t have so many skeletons in MY closet, I’d run against his ass.

I like Paladino's positions better than Lazio's, but I'm afraid neither is electable. The email scandal hurt Paladino badly, and unlike 99% of the garbage thrown at conservatives, there is a little there there. It bothers me. Juvenile sense of humor and pervy delights v. thinks it's AOK with him if 1 1/2 million babies get killed each year: Hmmm... I'm going with the juvenile/pervy sense of humor guy. Uses his office for lame, offensive email v. uses his office for his own personal gain, bullying corporations into dancing his tune. I'm going with the lame email guy, again.

I read the email he wrote in defense of his "politically incorrect" humor. It's a good response; and I actually do believe it's 100% sincere. But when someone warns you that something is offensive, listen.

Paladion DID explain his past donations- the Politics in New York practically require you to donate to BOTH parties to stay in business, and he IS a businessman

I am not sure if i have seen a Paladino - Cuomo matchup poll- but I have seen Lazio-Cuomo poll an Lazio loses by a huge margin.

Which makes me wonder why the NY Gop and Canservative party bother to back him

A Paladino PRIMARY win against lazio would generate news nation wide as ANOTHER TEA PARTY WIN!

The EXCITEMENT FROM THAT COULD TRANSLATE INTO A HUGE REPUBLICAN TURNOUT AND A CHANCE TO UN-SEAT *TWO* US SENATORS!! (INCLUDING CHUCKY SCHUMER!!!!!!!)
