If it were to go to court in the USA yes there is precedent for murder charges against an assailant who causes a miscarriage.  Miscarry is more of a quasi-medical term than a legal one. 

In Syria, however, anything might be possible.

She may have had some insights into Syrian law which made her think twice about reporting it.
