This all reeks of a manufactered smear campaign. As with any good smear campaign, each assertion has a tiny element of truth. I have heard explainations from the O’Donnell campaign offering reasonable explainations for most of these accusations. You can believe her or you can believe the GOP and their lackies in the media who have thrown their lot in with RINO Castle. Also, when O’donnell ran against Biden, the liberal press and the democratic machine didn’t find and use this stuff. And Sarah Palin and Jim Demint, both savy political operators who each would lose creditability if they hitched their wagons to a political liability, have endorsed her. You think they didn’t get their well paid staffs to thoroughly vett O’Donnell before throwing in their support? They could have as easily sat on the sidelines if they felt for one second that these accusations had legs. No these accusations don’t pass the smell test.
I was giving O’Donnell the benefit of the doubt until she went on a radio show and started lying about some of the accusations, blaming everything on a massive conspiracy and pretty much failing to address any of the accusations. She also spoke with a conservative columnist about the accusations, promised to e-mail a response the next day, and then e-mailed that she would not dignify the accusations with a response. Frankly, it’s not even he said, she said, it’s he said, she changed the subject or lobbed an accusation against someone.
