Fox Should Suspend Rove And Investigate, Cornyn Must Resign
Riehl World View ^ | 9/15/2010 | Dan Riehl

Michelle Malkin has a very solid reaction to Karl Rove's disgraceful behavior on Fox News tonight. That is not why Fox should suspend him and investigate. According to this report, Rove was working behind the scenes on  behalf of the Castle campaign to negotiate a deal that would have led to some Delaware Tea Party groups not supporting Christine O'Donnell, while giving Mike Castle a pass.

Especially given his comments on Fox News tonight, until this is resolved, it seems impossible to trust Rove as an objective analyst. In terms of the conservative movement, we should not simply ignore him, but proactively work to undermine Rove in whatever ways we can, given his obvious willingness to undermine us.

Additionally, via Michelle, before Christine O'Donnell could even make an acceptance speech, the NRSC rushed out to say they will not support her. Video here via The Right Scoop. One source I spoke with claims that RNC Michael Steele is purportedly going to go to Delaware to support Christine O'Donnell. As I said earlier on Twitter, the NRSC is dead on the web as far as I am concerned.

@NRSC Cornyn is one of the most incompetent NRSC heads ever. Now you won't support us? You are DEAD on the web ....

I would encourage all grassroots and conservative activists and bloggers to, not just ignore them, but proactively work to run-down whatever web based initiatives they choose to employ until this matter is resolved. John Cornyn should be held accountable and removed from his NRSC position.

He has demonstrated his incompetence several times over and now this. It is time for John Cornyn to go. If the NRSC had decided to not fund O'Donnell that is one thing. But to leak word of it tonight as they did, on the very night of her compelling victory over their preferred candidate, is way over the top. Cornyn needs to resign in disgrace, or be replaced if the GOP establishment wants any cooperation from online bloggers and activists going forward.

I’m sure they prefer to just think of themselves as kinder, gentler, One-World Republicans.

I suspect Rove’s days at FNC are numbered anyway. Given the direction FNC is headed, they’ll be just as liberal as the competition.

Well, I hardly think Rove has to be punished by Fox, but he and certain republican leaders definitely betrayed their own candidate.

Rove made a fool of himself, acting that way AFTER the voters made their choice. I guess we’d be better served by a liberal democrat than by a conservative republican, just because Rove doesn’t like her???

“...Michael Steele is purportedly going to go to Delaware to support Christine O’Donnell”

Good idea: standing next to Steele will make O’Donnell look like a rock-solid genius!

“?? Cornyn announced the NRSC will give O’Donnell the maxiumum amount and full support.”

I just heard the news after I posted.

The Rove part of the story should still be relevant.

Rove is not much of a TEAM player !

He is a Vichy Republican; collaborating with the Evil Ones

This is just so silly.

How boring would it be to have everybody reading from a script?

This is what politics is all about, folks. It’s a clash of opinions, discussion, rebuttal, arguments, listening to people who see things differently from you.

The democratic way to work things out.

It’s OK to disagree.

It’s OK to think.

That’s what free speech is all about.

I may think that those who disagree with me are wrong, but that doesn’t make them evil. Just wrong. And, bless this great country, that’s just fine.

I’ll work to outvote them in November.

Quit being so thin-skinned. Open your mind, listen to others, think it through, and vote your conscience.

No reason to be so scared of differing viewpoints.

Send him to MSNBC where he belongs. I think he would be good on Morning Joe.

You get it. They are Globalists. Reagan was forced to take him as VP and then he set up the Bush Clinton Bush Obama dynasty for the NWO.

Karl has let this get personal. A professional would use different words to get the point across. He may take his ball and go home, but the people have the keys to the house, not him. Entitlement is ugly no matter who wears it.

You may have hit it on the head. I've been wondering all morning why Rove is beating up on a conservative after the fact and even though Rove is not a reliable conservative he should be a reliable pubbie, but he's not.

Him taking this personal could be a big part of the explanation.

Rove was the guy who undermined Pat Toomey and ensured that Arlen Specter got the nod instead.

And he did the same thing in several other states. He’s also the guy who gave us Arnold in California.

This was my email to GOP this morning-—

The Republican Establishment types, such as Karl Rove, are making fools of themselves with their temper tantrum re Christine O’Donnell.

They certainly succeeded.

This also convinces my wife that the Bushes did, in fact, try to destroy Perot. I simply can not trust the Bushes.

Karl Rove is a smart, insightful political analyst and operator. Rove brilliantly managed George W Bush’s political career.

But he was also the leader of the wrecking crew that pretty well demolished the Reagan conservative movement during the Bush’s rise and rule.

Bush’s so-called Brain promised “a permanent Republican majority” if conservatives would compromise with liberals and adopt “compassionate conservativism”. Conservatives allowed innumerable compromises resulting in the largest growth in discretionary spending since LBJ, and we ended up with a social Democrat president, a social Democrat House, and a social Democrat Senate.

Nice work, Karl.
