California state Sen. Roderick Wright indicted

Los Angeles (AP) State Sen. Roderick Wright on Thursday was indicted on eight felony counts in connection with a probe into whether he lived outside his Southern California district since he was elected two years ago.

An indictment unsealed Thursday charges Wright, 58, with five counts of voter fraud, two counts of perjury and one count of filing a false declaration of candidacy.

I am relieved that a rat will have to face the justice system. Perhaps we can get the rats with more substantial crimes like tax evasion, shady real estate deals, sweetheart home loans, nepotism in awards of scholarships, steering money to favored banks, and illegal usage of rent controlled units.

Who did the indicting?

I think it was Steve Cooley, the GOP candidate for CA Attorney General, who is District Attorney in LA.

Can anyone verify?
