House Republicans are collecting photos from citizens showing how the Obama administration is using nearly $200 million in taxpayer money to plaster every possible highway with signs touting how stimulus cash is "Putting America to Work" with infrastructure projects.
Rep. Darrell Issa, the ranking Republican member on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, posted a new video inviting citizen watchdogs to send in photos of the green "Projects Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act" popping up around the country.

Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I believe “Darrell Issa” will be a household name early in 2011. I hope he can gridlock the Baraqqis to the max extent possible.
There is a sign like that on I 75 north of Bay City, Michigan.
Your tax dollars at work.
There is a major thoroughfare - vital to the commute- here in DC that has been cut down to one measely lane since the beginning of the year. It is plastered with "Your Recovery Dollars at Work" signs. The road was already in excellent shape, having been refurbished a couple of years ago, and so this impediment to traffic is just adding insult to injury. It is obvious that it is just another cash cow for some good ol' boy contractor in with city hall who is working just as fast as his poor sorry ass can work. I did actually see a a workman the other day - one - standing reading his blackberry while not paying attention to which direction his stop-caution sign was spinning. No actual work was being done.
There are also recovery dollars at work repairing the roadside outlook along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. As near as I can tell the money paid for blocking them off so no one could use them and then delivering supplies. Work progress is imperceptibly slow. Oh, the outlooks were just fine before hand.
Yeah, we had one of those “Project Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act” signs posted here in our very rural community a while back. They repaved a short section of a little used road that was paved and improved just three years ago.
Didn’t improve the economy here one bit, except for the contractor and his three or four employees
“Putting Mexicans to Work” is more like it.
The only new jobs are for those creating the signs.
Not quite. They will have to replace the signs people use for target practice. More wasted money.

My wife and I recently visited Acadia National Park and we saw one of these signs; but no activity or anything new. My wife asked, “What work was done?” I answered: “They are making signs.”
They are making stickers as well! In my travels today I saw a sticker on a Bee Line bus in Westchester County NY in White Plains.
this is a disgrace...
be nice to know who all has the contracts for the signs.
.... and how big the political contribution was that was necessary to get the contract.
