FLORIDA (KGO) -- A father boarded his 11-year old daughter's school bus in central Florida to confront her alleged bullies.

She has cerebral palsy, and James Jones says some kids on the bus had been taunting her, hitting her and had even thrown condoms at her. He brought her on board and asked her to point them out.

"Everybody sit down. Everybody sit down," Jones said on the surveillance tape. He then orders his 11-year-old daughter to point out her alleged tormenters. "Show me which one. Show me which one," he said.

"I'm gonna (expletive) you up -- this is my daughter, and I will kill the (expletive) who fought her," Jones said.

To repeat inflorida's invaluable information:

"I’m not sure if this has been posted yet since I haven’t read through all of the replies but the daughter has been hospitalized on a suicide watch due to the bullying."

If something happesn to this little girl, I very well may go and visit these kids myself.

>>If that were my child that was taunted, I would have gone berzerk.<<

If that were my child taunted, I would have never sent her back to that “Lord of the Flies” atmosphere.

Real life is not like school.

He should have gone to the schoool board.

In theory you are right but the school board would probably have been as impotent as the rest of the school officials. Everyone afraid to stick their neck out by taking positive action.

I wonder if the girl was the victim of bullies because her father has no self control?

Do you have the same thoughts concerning victims of violent rape?

The father lost control because thugs harmed his disabled daughter and the school did nothing.

“Back in the day, kids were afraid of their parents. I was never afraid of facing the principal, I was afraid of facing my Mom.”

That is all true but you can’t do that today.

When I was in elementary school, my junior high brother got into an altercation with his vice principal. This resulted in detention for him and a phone call home, which I witnessed my father answer. I also witnessed my father confront and ...well...”educate” my brother about how such things WON’T happen again. That butt kicking was a “twofer” as my brother went on to be an honor roll student for the rest of his school days and I myself made it a point to ALWAYS be respectful to the administrators whether I agreed with them or not.

But you see, today my dad would have been put in jail for it.

Bottom line is: Parents are afraid to discipline their kids for fear of the nanny state. And that is why we have jerks on the bus tormenting little girls with disabilities.

Parents should to tell their wimp brats to stand up for their own rights and not intervene on their behalf.

What self defense technique would you recommend for a disabled girl with cerebal palsy to defend herself from multiple bullies? That's what this article is talking about.

“…Nothing has changed…”

I also as well, along with everyone else had such things happen, and remember it well, the problem is limiting direct retaliation allows the bullying to continue…

Since Government Education has taken it upon themselves to be the arbiter through their many fraudulent programs to decide what is and is not something to be acted upon. Considering several points, this child is disabled, they are in charge of the child’s welfare, they have video recorders on the bus; the father did what Government Education (aka school system) refused to do…when it is you and your kids I could only venture to guess it seems to be more important; although, for some reason Government Education does not comprehend this.

Good for him.

So you obviously applaud his inaction. I guess you feel I should have fought the guy who attacked me. Perhaps so, as I conceded, but I still think the coach should have interceded. This was not an argument or dispute but an assault.

"I'm gonna (expletive) you up -- this is my daughter, and I will kill the (expletive) who fought her," Jones said.

Totally understandable but just counter-productive. If he'd actually touched any of those kids he'd end up in prison, where he'd be useless to his daughter and himself. As it is, he is now a school legend - kids will be passing the story on and laughing about it for years to come, and his poor daughter will be hearing about it for the rest of her days at that school.

School officials need to pay a lot more attention to bullying and put a stop to it instantly - but there's a fine line between that and the kind of over-sensitive political correctness that demands that kids in school say and do nothing that might offend anyone in the slightest. While they sort it out, this father might want to consider another school and private transportation for his girl.

“Blaming the victim” is a bad thing, huh?

>>Do you have the same thoughts concerning victims of violent rape?

If a whore gets drunk and goes partying in a bad part of town, guess what?

Now. Back to the topic.

You said “The father lost control...”

Thank you. You proved my point.

You can justify why he lost it. You can excuse it. You can say the punks had it coming, whatever. But if most FReepers would stop the knee-jerk reactions for a minute here, then they would see the Father did have other (better) options and he - as I said - has no self control. Or as you said, he “lost control”.

Sorry, FRiend, the father was completely wrong in the way he handled this. He should have gone to the schoool board. He deserved to be arrested.

He already did. Next he should have gone Neville Chaimberlan on their asses and wrote a strongly worded letter to the local paper.

The father did NOT lost control.

Losing control would have been beating the snot out of them (which they probably deserve anyway).

Being fearful is a good thing for bullies.....get a clue.

Not every rape victim is a "drunken whore" in the "bad part of town."

We seemed to have hit a nerve. Did you used to get your jollies molesting the special ed kids? Looks like we found a troll and a pervert.

Not my opinion. Must be yours. If that’s what you think, then keep it to yourself.
