No one in the White House knows how to create jobs, and Bernie Marcus knows why. On CNBC, the founder of Home Depot blasted Barack Obama and his administration as a collection of tenured dilettantes who have never had to meet a payroll in their lives. Greg Hengler offers a couple of juicy excerpts from his appearance, especially when Marcus starts “apologizing” for having created over 300,000 jobs through the kind of entrepeneurship that the current White House wants to discourage:

The reason Home Depot creates jobs, is that we’ve become a nation of do-it-yourself-ers. We can’t afford to hire our neighbor even if they are better at it than we are, because of the tax burdens.
Is this the same Home Depot that has hundreds of illegals in their parking lots and gives announcements in both English and Spanish? .......just wondering.

Yeah, we pretty much go to Lowe’s these days. Besides, they offer the military discount every day, not just on Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day. Call me cheap.

I wonder if Home Depot is going to be nailed with a couple of thousands federal lawsuits now for everything from hiring practices to pay to sexism to dropping paper on the floor and littering?

Also were among the first to post every sign in Spanish in So Cal. Then they compounded that with putting up ‘shelters’ in their parking lots for the ILLEGAL day workers who congregated there looking for work. As a single woman— I was soon turned off & quit doing business at HD.
I drove further to Lowe’s, but I got actual HELP from their employees & a sense of friendliness. I don’t use HD for anything—Lowe’s is my place to get things & advice.

The guy that raised the $$$ for Home Depot, Kenneth Langone, is a very cool guy too. I’ve spoken to him on the phone a couple of times.
