Damn straight and we have a whole list of demands that haven’t even made the top 10 list.

One last chance.

I would agree with that. Real cuts in spending, real health care reform, real immigration enforcement would do for starters. Unfortunately I’m not sure that Boehner and McConnell and Cantor have gotten the message yet.

I’d say BOTH parties have ONE LAST CHANCE to get things right.

Pubbies moreso.

The lot of them are looking a self-immolation as a viable option should they examine their actions and consequences for the ambitions of absolute power.

ONE

LAST

TIME

One can’t help admiring Mr DeMint for saying in public what we’ve been saying among ourselves....

He’s way out on a limb, here, and it’s up to us to make sure that limb stays safely un-sawed....

I believe there are real ethical issues with human cloning. But I’d really like to see about 60 Jim DeMints.

More to the point, the GOP is dead if you don’t do what WE say. By “we” I mean your constituents, those you are supposed to represent!

The biggest problem is that they haven’t made any promises at all. It’s been years since the Republicans had any kind of platform. The House is coming out with some mini-contract with America, but it is supposedly much smaller and incomplete. The Republican Senate won’t commit to anything at goals at all; they just react to whatever the Democrats do.

I will probably get flamed for this, but I think the “We the People” movement needs to ditch the idea of “Republican” totally. The name “Republican” is just as soiled and stinky as the name “Democrat”.

In fifty years, Jim DeMint might be remembered as the man who more than any other turned this country back on course.

Simple majority in both Houses, plus the President can pass a budget, including tax cuts, by “reconciliation”. (Same rule used to avoid filibuster on ObamaCare.) So a Republican president and congress could do A LOT even if they don’t have 60 Senate votes. They could defund almost anything.

I don’t want tax cuts. I want whole federal departments shut down or divided up and handed off to the states... for them to keep or close or do whatever they will with them.

Any program that doesn’t involve closing down whole departments is probably just shuffling the deck chairs on the slow-boat to China.

As another poster commented, taxes alone don’t do near the damage that over-regulation does, and that an overreaching overly proactive government does. Its not enough to talk about lowering taxes, we need to go after the tons of regulations with a shredder and a torch.

As for the economy, the quickest way to turn it around, so fast we’ll get whiplash, is to make a decision to become energy independent, completely. Drill, mine, build, drill and mine some more. Steamroll anything that gets in the way of drilling mining and building.

If we don’t do that, then get used to poverty because the damage we’ve done over the last several decades combined with the damage we’re doing now is going to be tough to overcome. Impossible to overcome where there is no will. Energy is life. Energy is wealth. The lack of it is poverty and slavery. I don’t mean to sound melodramatic. But the key to it all is energy. Thats why they are determined to take control of it.

They need to do what Gov. Christie is doing in NJ on a national level or the whole Ponzi scheme that is SocSec/Medicare and now Obamacare will crash sooner rather than later...

If they won't represent me I'll find someone who will!

When my daughter was in high school a kid showed up here one day who came across very much like Meghan McCain. I made it clear I didn't want her hanging around in my home! I don't like unprincipled Dimbletwits!
