Karl Rove – the top GOP strategist who declared last week that Christine O’Donnell’s surprise victory does “little good” for the party – is now calling on the surprise Senate nominee to explain her comments about witchcraft.
"In southern Delaware where there are a lot of churchgoing people, they're going to want to know what that is all about,” the former aide to President George W. Bush told "Fox News Sunday."
“My view is she can’t simply ignore it,” he said. “She’s got to deal with it and explain it and put it in its most sympathetic light and move on.”
O’Donnell uttered the comments in question during a 1999 appearance on the now-canceled show “Politically Incorrect,” saying then, “I dabbled into witchcraft – I never joined a coven. But I did, I did. ... I dabbled into witchcraft.”
The 11-year-old interview was dug up Friday by liberal comedian Bill Maher – the former host of Politically Incorrect. During the 1999 appearance, O’Donnell also described one of her first dates – with a witch “on a satanic altar.”
A spokesman for the O’Donnell campaign did not respond to CNN’s request for comment.
“She can’t simply say, ‘Oh these are unfactual, and not true,' and just ignore them,” Rove also said. “I don’t think the people of Delaware have or are accepting that as a reasonable explanation.
Citing exhaustion and scheduling conflicts, O’Donnell canceled her plans over the weekend to appear on both "Fox News Sunday" and CBS’ "Face the Nation" – a move Rove called a “smart decision.”
“She shouldn’t have accepted in the first place,” he said. “It’s Delaware voters, not conservatives across the country who will determine the outcome of this election … and there is, as I say, resistance.”

No matter how hard Rove tries to make O’Donnell look bad, his choice of a candidate is still a steaming pile.
Does anyone remember what if anything Karly said when Hillary Clinton talked of having seances with Eleanor Roosevelt, many decades after Ms. Roosevelt died?
I really think he is very angry now knowing that so many of us consider him a typical elitist Washington insider.

There seems to be alot of negative spin without anyone actually seeing it.
It could have been said in jest. It is afterall a comedy show. She could have been trying to fit in.
Wait for all the facts.
Agreed - satan worship is scary stuff.
But guess what? People live in either of two realms in this world. Those that are under the dominion of satan and sin.
And those that are in the realm of Christ and HIS Righteousness.
Whether its wiccan, worshiping material goods, focusing on self-indulgence - whatever name we want to call it - it is all slavery to sin and satan.
So Mrs. O'Donnell was once in this realm?
We all were at one time.
The Apostle Paul rightly points out the end of the people that exist in this realm:
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
But it doesn't have to be this end... God's Grace provides something much better. HE washes us clean, and takes us into HIS Kingdom:
1 Corinthian 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
So Mrs. O'Donnell apparently at one time had her walk with satan?
That means zip to me.
This describes everyone of us. What matters is with whom we are walking with today.

Let Mrs. O'Donnell talk about the Lord's work in her life today. I could care less about what she was before she knew the Lord. Lost in sin? Doing stupid and destructive things? Welcome to the club.
She hasn't ignored it. She's admitted that she fooled around with 'witchcraft', while in her late high school, or early college years. From her description, it sounds like silly nights out with girlfriends, not some deep, dark, dangerous way of life.
What she's doing now; making jokes about it, especially those at Karl Rove's expense, are just what is warranted in this case.
Judas wasn't a politician much less a political strategist. ;^)
After Rove explains how he let the public image of the Bush Presidency melt down in a puddle and betrayed conservatives economically.

Karl. Why don’t you have a history that has similar indiscretions? Did you not grow up in a normal manner (like the majority of us) or did you somehow get those items covered over before getting into politics>
