Christine O'Donnell: No Witchcraft Since High School -- If so, Rove Would be a Supporter
FOX NEWS ^ | 09/19/2010 | Kimberley Schwandt

Posted on 09/19/2010 4:26:51 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

Delaware Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell responded to old clips that surfaced over the weekend where she said she had once "dabbled in witchcraft," clarifying at a GOP picnic in Delaware Sunday, "I was in high school, how many of you didn't hang out with questionable folks in high school? But no, There's been no witchcraft since, if there was, Karl Rove would be a supporter."

The jab at the former President George W. Bush senior adviser came after Rove had cast doubt on her ability to carry the state for the GOP and said there are too many questions about her past.

The nominee showed up at the picnic in a key county that helped secure her GOP Tuesday primary upset, despite canceling previously scheduled appearances on "Fox News Sunday" and CBS' "Face the Nation." Her campaign backed out of the talk show interviews, saying she needed to get back to Delaware and had a scheduling conflict, including attending church and then the afternoon picnic.

She was greeted with a raucous applause at the annual Sussex County GOP picnic with chants of "yes we can" and "yes we will!"

Many in the crowd kept saying "get over it," to the media when she clarified her original witchcraft comments, which included her giving details about a date she had with a witch. The 1999 tape from "Politically Incorrect" first surfaced Friday when Bill Maher aired it on "Real Time with Bill Maher," saying he would keep airing clips until she appeared on his show.

Local Republicans seemed un-phased by the latest clip, which followed other television interviews that surfaced where O'Donnell talked about such issues as sex and condoms on MTV and to Phil Donahue.

Rove is right on this issue; deal with it as best one can then MOVE ON!

Her opponents would love for her to legitimize their charge by attempting to refute it. I mean, thats what republicans have always tried to do in the past, and the result is the same. She can never answer them to their satisfaction because receiving an acceptable answer is not their goal

Its a stupid charge, and people are fair minded enough to see it for what it is - a cheap political smear.

She's far better off laughing at those trying to make something of nothing.

Yeah, lets make every conservative candidate explain ever single silly thing they ever did or said, while the marxists on the other side sit back & chuckle, untroubled by even one single f'n difficult question.

Good point.

The liberal media calls for questioning conservatives on their high school follies, while no one questions the Clintons on Vince Foster or Obama on Donald Young, the gay friend of Barack's who was choir director of Rev. Wright's church and who was gunned down the same week two other gay members of that church lost their lives, right after he started talking about his affair with Obama... in Dec 07...

Wake up, America. Your "news" is just what one side wants you to hear.

“Its even hard to believe many on our side(?) are participating in the farce.”

I cannot agree more. Even some right here on FR.

I’d like to see Christine ask the media why they were never all wee wee’d up over 0bummer’s ‘dabbling’ in cocaine (per his autobiographies)... and where was the media when Bill Clinton was ‘dabbling’ all over Monica Lewinski???

(It would be even more amusing, if the reporter turned into a toad.)

Hmm, if she had the cash, an interesting CGI campaign commercial at the expense of the drive-by media and RINO's (Tokyo Rove especially) could be very interesting.

Exactly what more is there to say to this than what she said?

Nothing. She wins this round. Move on.

I’d rather not imagine the things I’d have to answer for.

I would say her response was pitch perfect. If the SRM continues from here they are the ones that will look petty and stupid and not Christine. They don't like being mocked or laughed at but they deserve it. I dare them to try to milk this some more.

The video they have reportedly have shows her wearing a witch doctor outfit and dancing around a fire...Everyone there was chanting and babbling as if casting spells...

It was just fun.

I disagree. Turn it around on the MSM and RINO’s with a very clever advertisement that would connect with the average voter.

Karl Rove is probably thinking of a scene in Delaware along these lines:

Christine is kind of an empty head, no real resume, like 0bama. I would vote for her given the chance and sure would not be giving the enemy ammunition the way Rove and others are

But Karl Rove no longer runs campaigns. He is a media personality, a Fox New commentator, and as such is expected to give the negatives and positives on all politicians he is asked about. But if I were Karl Rove I still would have said the minimum about Christine and not helped the Democrats. Too much is at stake

Look, is she the best America can do? No. I didn’t vote for her mainly because I live in PA. Is Toomey the best America has to offer? Probably not, but they’ll have to do. I believe she’s a bit flaky, but my God, compared to Hitlery, Stretch Pelosi and Commie Obama, I’ll take’em!

Your Statement: "She's far better off laughing at those trying to make something of nothing."

Response: That may well be one way of dealing with the issue. They key will be if the media rtuns with the story and it "gets legs."

Remember when Obama's mother-in-law Marian Robinson was practicing Voodoo (Santeria) in the white House? She wasn't in high school either!

Michelle's mother moved into the White House to help raise her grandchildren. It was revealed that Marian was practicing Caribbean voodoo witchcraft called Santería. Reports say she picked up the craft when her husband was dying from multiple sclerosis and was desperate for a cure. At the time, Marian took her husband to ceremonies where they did spells and trances, and sacrificed animals. After arriving in D.C., she was concerned for her health and invited her Chicago voodoo priestess to the White House. Barack Obama had a fit, “No voodoo in the White House. Absolutely. I don’t care what you call it,” he told his mother-in-law.

Maybe that is why there have been so many parties and state dinners at the white House. That's one way to get rid of all those dead chickens. :-)

Watching that show when I was a boy I thought Samantha to be the perfect woman.
Never did get her attraction to Darwood, or whatever his name was.
