When you raise three quarters of a billion dollars for your campaign, you pay old girlfriendsn off (and anyone else with potentially damaging information) and you have them sign non-disclosure agreements that don’t give them the second half of the payment until well after you are out of office.
Interesting theory, hasn't seemed to work for any other president however Clinton, Bush II, etc.
