I thought affirmative action applied to citizens - and not well (created dependencies and false economies ultimately). Now he wants to do so with the entire of Latin American illegal immigrants also?
Where will this madness stop? Seriously, it’s insanity that no other nation tolerates. We’re killing ourselves slowly Mr. Powell - and frankly sir, you’re a threat to our national security for making comments like that.

Guess what, General? All my workers are American and speak English. How the hell else would I be able to communicate with them? I'm not fluent in Construction Spanish.
Or any other language, for that matter. Why should I be, to live in my own country? I'm American, and Americans either speak or learn to speak our common language.
For the rare work that we don't do for ourselves with occasional help from our teenage sons, we hire carefully. I've chewed out our FIOS supplier for sending out subcontractors who didn't speak English. Next time they sent good old American workers who could communicate and knew what they were doing.
I'm serious...I'll provide housing and utilities for the two of you.
Japans’ unemployment rate is half of ours and they have very strict immigration policies. Coincidence? Who knows...
I can’t come, dog, cat house and yard to take care of but I could send my husband. He and two other carpentry contractors are in the same position. They’re pooling work, all have insurance and all are licensed but none can afford employees anymore.
They’re also doing a lot of cash work but you didn’t hear that from me because it’s illegal :-)
It’s the first time we’ve ever broken the law doing business but everyone here is often working for cash now. Our car mechanic is also. The government is forcing it on us.
Was that in Atlas Shrugged? Make everything illegal so you can be arrested for any cause?
