White House tries to give healthcare a human face (After Providers Begin Dropping Children)

President Barack Obama launches a new attempt to convince Americans of the advantages of his healthcare overhaul on Wednesday, just six weeks before an election in which the plan has proved more of a liability than a benefit for his fellow Democrats.

Obama will travel to the suburban backyard of a family home in Falls Church, Virginia, to talk about provisions of the new law that will come into effect on Thursday, six months after it became law.

The event will include Americans from across the country who are already benefiting from healthcare reform, the White House said, seeking to put a human face on a law that has seemed to many voters to be mostly a confusing array of new regulations.

The “benefits” I’m seeing from “healthcare reform” are increased premiums, increased co-pays, and increased thresholds.

Consequently, my share of my medical and dental expenses this year has increased about fivefold.

I got a letter about a month ago telling me that they were dropping my Child Only Plan and I should seek other options. I ended up putting my kid on my company plan for about $150 more a month.

How about I hold up my kids and say “See, hussein obama’s insane socialist plan for America has robbed them of a happy and prosperous future. They are going to work like dogs for their entire life to support themselves, hopefully they’ll have their own family some day too. Thanks to obama/Reid/Pelosi, they’ll also be supporting a few other lazy people and families too while struggling to pay off obama’s debts to some Chinaman.”

Hey, you and I are in the same boat - seeing the same "benefits" of obama/Reid/Pelosi-care! My premiums have gone up, coverages have come down, last year's dental coverage is just gone.

Thank you President obama, oh, and FU too.

There’s a huge Mosque in Falls Church. I have to wonder if that might not be a fitting forum for Zero?

Is there an airport in Falls Church where he can land Air Force One?

I can’t believe he will travel that 20 miles without his plane.

You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Too little play is being given to this aspect of Obamacare, but watch for the provision that takes effect tomorrow eliminating a Maximum Lifetime Benefit to send rates through the roof, and quickly.

Small businesses that are shopping for an affordable policy generally do so by agreeing to a $2 million lifetime maximum benefit. When that becomes illegal at a minute past midnight, those policies will become unaffordable to tens of thousands of small employers.

My company has not raised employee costs due to insurance rate increases for the last THREE years! Since they couldn't give decent pay raises, they took on ALL the increased costs for insurance for the last three years! And they didn't drop any coverage - they actually lowered our medical deductibles and increased the features of our vision and dental programs during that time frame!

I got my letter from my company yesterday that stated they cannot afford to pay for the forced increases in costs due to recently passed federal laws. My increase will be almost 40% MORE starting in January, and that I should expect continued increases every year!

Thanks Obamao! I don't know where I would be without your wonderfully, "cheaper" Obamacare! PUTZ!!

I was at the pharmacy yesterday, picking up a refill. The pharmacist told me they now have to ask patients questions about their conditions and put that in their files, so the insurance companies will pay the claims. They’re being told to ask things like “how many migraines a month do you get?” and “how much of this cream do you use each time you apply it?” and “how big is the rash you have?” and “how frequently do you use this medication?” If the pharmacy doesn’t ask the questions, the insurance company won’t pay the claim. Welcome to the start of rationing.
